The right wing of the Republican Party are traitors. Retired Navy Admiral Dennis Blair, President Obama’s new Director of National Intelligence, testified before Congress in February of this year that a failing economy was a major security threat to the nation. "Time is probably our greatest threat,” he said. “The longer it takes for the recovery to begin, the greater the likelihood of serious damage to U.S. strategic interests.” Yet these self-serving, solipsistic right wingers want President Obama to fail. It doesn’t soften it to say they want his policies to fail. It means the same thing. They want the recovery to fail. They want what he is doing for the economy to fail. In short, they want the nation to fail. And that is a threat to our national security, every bit as serious as were the attacks of 9/11. Had anyone, especially a Democrat, said the same thing about George Bush or his policies in response to that threat, their heads would have been called for, and rightly so.
What we are seeing is a radical effort to undo our form of government. Right wingers have no commitment to the nation’s health and well being. They have no concern for anything or anyone but themselves. That’s what happens when ideology takes over your life. Everything is filtered through a warped sense of reality. What the Republicans in Congress and empty, talking heads like Rush Limbaugh are saying is not a different opinion on the nation’s ills. They’re not offering an alternative agenda to Obama’s proposals. They are speaking treason. They are seeking to undermine the United States government. Crazies like Alan Keyes have even made statements that any rational person should consider a veiled threat to the president’s life. I can only hope the FBI is monitoring his activities. This stuff has to stop. This is nothing but trash and garbage intended to hurt Obama and the nation. These people are not simply opposed to the president. They are opposed to America. They are opposed to anything that might help our nation crawl out of the mess they helped to create. Pure and simple they are filled with hate and venom. Most of us thought only nuts like Ann Coulter were. Now we know it is an epidemic in the whole Republican establishment.
Part of what is going on is that right wingers don’t know how to lose. They have no opponents, only enemies. A minority party is not a position they will ever accept without trying to destroy the majority, even if it means taking the nation down with them. We are not witnessing anything close to the loyal opposition. For years what has been building is a radical group that cannot take No for an answer. Losing an election is a call to arms to them. Thus, they will continue to get more radical and pose a greater and greater danger to the nation in general and President Obama in particular. This is too serious a threat to be ignored. We can hope that appropriate security measures are being taken to guard against these radicals. But the rest of us can let them know through letters to local papers, opinion surveys, personal conversations, and speeches that we know what they’re up to and we reject them and everything they stand for. They may have the right to speak, but we also have the right and responsibility to let them know we will not listen. The future of our nation hangs in the balance. Enough truly is enough!

It's dwindling.
As time goes on, the demographics favor the democratic party.
So do finances. The areas that trend red are less well off than the places that are blue.
When demographics and finances are against a particular organization, it's going to be tough for them to just tread water. It's going to be even more difficult for them to gain ground.
