I was never going to reveal this but the the time is now. I met Elvis at Ft Jackson, SC. I was in the Army and he was performing in a nearby town. Somehow I ended up backstage after the concert and Elvis noticed me. I was in uniform, a really ugly one at the time, but we were not permitted civilian clothes. I had won Soldier of the Month so I had a off post pass. He motioned me to approach him,so of course I did. He seemed really shy but invited me for a drink. One thing led to another and we quit drinking and got down to business. At the time I thought it was caused by the alcohol, but he could not perform. I told him that I had to leave because I had to get back to the post in time for 6:30 AM formation but he thought I was upset by his inability to have sex. My transportation at the time was the bus because we couldn't have cars on the post. He saw to it that a car took me back and dropped me off at the gate. He gave me a private phone number to reach him anytime when I was free to see him. I called him alot. We were never able to have sex. I really didn't care because he was such a good caring person. I really couldn't take gifts from him because I had no place to keep them. Taking money was also out of the question for me because I didn't want to cheapen our relationship. Maybe that is why he liked me because he realized I didn't want anything from him. After I finally gained some rank, I was able to see him more easily and for longer periods of time. He was a very unhappy man. We were friends for a really long time and then he suddenly died.
