I'm a photographer not a writer. Became a photographer when I realized I was better behind the camera than in front of it. This is an experiment to see if the beauty of my words will ever live up to the beauty of my photographs. so far the photographs are winning, but I haven't given up yet.

In the Bleak Midwinter....Not!

Rate: 9 Flag

Gotta love winters in the Mid-Atlantic or at least in my part of Maryland.  We are either buried under 2ft of snow or as was the case yesterday, its 65 degrees and sunny. Not wanting to waste this opportunity, I grabbed my walking shoes and my camera bag and headed to the park.

At first glance, the wooded trail looked like an old, sepia toned photograph with the dried remains of the fall still lingering.

But there was still some green amidst all of the browns.

As I wandered by one of the ponds, I was stunned to see two turtles trying to get a head start on spring.

It also appeared that some of the bulbs were a bit confused as well.

These snowdrops are about a month early, but these daffodils are way ahead of schedule.

Hope you enjoyed this little taste of spring, cause I have a feeling we're going to pay for it in the upcoming weeks. They say its not nice to fool Mother Nature, but she sure likes to fool with us. Happy Spri...uh... New Year, Everybody!
