I am thankful for the wooded paths
for the leaves of red, gold, and brown,
for the geese that fly above in a V
and the squirrels that scamper on the ground.
For the deer so quiet, who watch with curious eyes
to the woodpecker taping loudly on the old maple tree nearby.

The beauty of life is a gift that we share in every day
so take a moment and be grateful on this Thanksgiving Day.
Happy Thanksgiving, Everybody.

Nilesite: You don't have to climb a mountain or trek 30 miles into the wilderness to enjoy nature. I'm jealous that you live near something so vast and beautiful as Central Park, hope to visit there again someday. In the meantime, do some bird watching for me. Happy Thanksgiving!
designanator: Thank you and hope you had a good Thanksgiving as well.
