It had to happen. Last week, prior to the attacks on the embassies, a news report from a distant land told the story of thirteen civilians that had been killed in a drone attack. It didn't make headlines. There was probably an apology by someone assigned to issue apologies. But those civilians, women, children, their husbands and sons, were dead, to be added to the estimated 300,000 that preceded them to the grave in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Somehow Americans have found a way to dismiss these deaths, barely stopping to consider that those were real people. They lived in villages where they had friends. They had relatives that celebrated with them when they got married or gave birth. They had mothers and fathers that dedicated their lives to providing for them, and making sure they were safe when danger lurked.
But they couldn't save them from American drones, the invisible death-dealers that strike without a sound or warning. So now they are dead.
Meanwhile, in the United States, nobody cared because they were busy with important things like sharing photos with their Facebook “friends” and spreading the news that Jessica Simpson had lost 40 lbs. OMG!, and Snooki's new baby was treated to organic baby food that she made herself! OMG! How does she find the time?
Guess what folks? The time of reckoning has come. Take a moment and ask yourself, do you give a damn about the hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians that were slaughtered from the sky? Did you know those, or any of the other hundreds of thousands had been killed, and if you did, did you ever stop to think about who they might have been or whether their lives were worth anything?
I'm reminded daily about the mentality of the people that got all this started. I've described them in blogs and one of them just proved everything I said previously was true. Smug, arrogant, and very, very stupid. The military is their life. They wave the flag, support the troops, put on the airs, and invariably think that military strength is the answer to everything. Smug, arrogant and stupid.
This is not the way to represent yourself in a dangerous world that is becoming more dangerous daily. You can't go around drawing “red lines” for most of the world's population, daring people to cross it, without someone doing it just to spite your arrogance.
The Bush administration made a conscious decision to con the public, probably knowing that individual American are not generally disposed to reigning terror on innocent civilians unless they think it's necessary for their own survival, or perhaps to restore peace to an area that has been ravaged by war. America has always been involved in war mongering but the population takes some convincing, and the Bushies had to spread a lot of disinformation to pull it off.
But now, the inevitable repercussions are upon us, and it's not hard to imagine why. Take a moment and ask yourself how you would feel, what you would do, if one or more of your family members had been executed from the sky by a foreign aircraft that had invaded the airspace of your country? You might consider that your family member wasn't doing anything illegal or combative, only trying to get through the day without being splattered all over the ground.
Now multiply that anger times the number of family members and countrymen that have similar feelings. There are lots of them out there despite the fact the mainstream media has done a fairly good job of making sure you remain ignorant of the simmering hatred that has been gaining momentum for more than a decade. So with the dry kindling in place, it wasn't going to take much of a spark to get the flames to spread was it? The people that want to destroy America have a lot more support now than they did ten years ago.
Most of America is still scratching their heads, (while the military continues to scratch their asses and pick their noses), but not only has the militaristic arrogance of this country put it in jeopardy of going bankrupt, it has now put every American at risk.
The idiots that thought it was cool to post photos of themselves urinating on corpses, not something that the more intellectual segments of American society would do, have finally proved that their stupidity and contempt will have consequences for the rest of us. The bottom ten percent of the population is representing America abroad, and they aren't very good at it, nor are they very successful in their stated objectives.
The smug, stupid, arrogance I see every day is typical of American insolence, and the rest of the world isn't enamored or impressed with the world's most obese, obnoxious, arrogant, gluttonous slobs on the planet imposing their will on them. Does that make sense America?
I hope so, because Chris Stevens was not stupid, obnoxious or arrogant, and he paid for the excesses of his fellow Americans with his life. Moronic militarists have put us all in danger. Their mindless excursions into other people's lands, their warmongering for profit, their contempt for human life, is going to manifest itself, and it has begun in case you hadn't noticed.
Chris Stevens was the first but not the last, and the assholes that bred that hatred are probably sitting in a bar somewhere deciding what kind of mean-looking tattoo they can get to commemorate their “service” to America in Iraq or Afghanistan.
America's Heroes. Serving their country. But how about a rule that at least once every century the military intervention crowd has to prove they actually accomplished something productive as opposed to leaving countries in shambles, in political turmoil, and left to bury their civilian dead?
GlobalRev.Org was shut down today, the inevitable result of America's Heroes penchant for destruction of evidence by way of gaining access and control of personal property, something I've pointed out on many occasions. This allows for them to hand themselves “evidence” or to subtract it as necessary to fabricate allegations of illegal activity. I will update here when possible to advise regarding their criminal conduct under the auspices of “enforcing the law” that is actually a means of suppressing free speech and destroying evidence.
Nothing new, predictable, and perfectly consistent with experience as described in these blogs. On September 20, 2012 GlobalRev.Org was taken down permanently on specious grounds. The new blog-site can be found at GlobalRev.Wordpress.com
