Barry got his first pet at the age of ten years old. She was a beautiful baby kitten only a few weeks old. He named her misty as she always looked like there was a tear in her eyes. He hugged mom and dad for this special birthday present with a few tears of his own. Fresh food water along with water was given every day along the love and affection that he had for her. They played together mostly in the evenings during the week and a lot more on the weekends. However, every night Misty slept with Barry on his pillow as she used to jump up there and lay on his pillow. She would lick his cheek, her way of giving a kiss, then purr as they both fell asleep together. Ten years later the bond between them was as strong as ever. Barry was now twenty and his beloved pet was an adult. He opened the front door to go to school as usual. The meow of a stray cat outside had misty run out of the house. He heard the screech of tires on the pavement from the street he was about to cross. It didn't stop in time as misty was struck by the car. The driver got out and watched Barry run to his pet who was still breathing, but barely alive. He laid down on the road and put his head next to hers and cried. Her paw touched his face and she licked it one more time before she passed away. Her teary eyes closed as her final goodbye was said. The stranger cried also as he picked up Barry off the road and walked him back to his house. The incident was explained to the parents as the sorry driver compensated the family with a huge some of money right on the spot. Barry went to the pet store about a year later in search of another kitten. She paced back and forth and rubbed against the bars of the cage as if she knew him from before. Same coloring, same misty eyes. The baby kitten jumped up onto Barry's pillow and lay down next to him. She licked his cheek, her way of giving a kiss, then purr as they both fell asleep together. Maybe a kitten comes back again which could be a plan that God had intended. Some call it reincarnation, I call it love returning. Whatever it may be, Barry gives her fresh food and water every day once again. She jumps up on his pillow and kisses him goodnight. Case in point on how we find love once again. Thank you misty....
