A Revolving Door..by Michael

Rate: 0 Flag
It all started at an office building on Madison Avenue in New York City. It was ten minutes after four in the afternoon when it happened. Gerry was leaving work from his early shift and Cathy was just coming in to do her late shift. Out of the four revolving doors, they just happened to pick the same one this time. Each of them smiled at the other while looking through the glass door. His face stuck in her mind that evening as so did hers from this brief entrance and exit. Both purposefully used that same revolving door the next day in hopes of seeing each other once again. This time the smile was followed by a wave of their hands at each other. The third time was a charm as he went through the revolving door to get back into the building. They talked for five minutes and then both continued on to where they needed to go. Cathy was surprised when she left work at midnight. On the other side of a revolving door standing there was Gerry. He had a single red rose in his hand with a smile that made her cry. An unexpected meeting with an unexpected gift. Weekends became very special as the two of them began dating. It was the following Christmas eve she opened her present under his tree. The ring was accepted as they hugged and kissed for most of the rest of the evening. The wedding hall had three entrances. two pull out doors on either side, and one revolving door in the middle. They looked at each other and smiled as they remembered how they met. Needless to say, the bride and groom held hands as they went through the revolving door...Maybe we work different hours but somehow meet at an entrance and exit to an office building. A smile and a wave of hands becomes something much more. Case in point in a short love story where Gerry and Cathy traveled through a revolving door...
