Victor drove up to his favorite spot in a field that kept his hobby alive. A net was attached to a long pole which caught butterflies. Two catches were made that day as the specimens were preserved and placed in his glass display case. A total of 9 was there as one more would fill up the case. Each one was labeled with the name of that particular butterfly. It was the last day of summer as he hoped to make a final catch to complete his hobby. Virginia went for the first time to a field not too far away from her. She got there ahead of Victor by about 10 minutes. The timing was perfect as the final species landed on two separate flowers. They were about 5 yards away from each other when the long pole swooped down and made its last catch. After the butterflies were put in a jar, the two of them started to talk to each other. The most amazing thing happened within the next two weeks. She was invited to his apartment for dinner and noticed his collection displayed in a cabinet in the living room. She smiled to herself as something was very similar. When he went to her apartment, he noticed her collection in the living room also. The exact number of 10 butterflies was displayed that completed each of their hobbies. This strange event drew a bigger picture than mere coincidence. Four years later they decided to get married. A graphic artist added something new to their wedding album cover. Floating overhead in the background were 10 butterflies. It sat next to their special collection in a display case in their living room...Maybe long poles with a net attached catch something more than a hobby. It captures love in a field where two people meet. Case in point in a short love story about Victor and Virginia along with 10 butterflies....
