Sarah Palin recently displayed her stunning ignorance regarding the Israeli settlements in Palestine when  in an interview with Barbara Walters she said she supported ongoing settlement expansion.  This effectively was a call to end 40 years of official U.S. government policy on Israel.  She incorrectly asserted that the population of Israel is going to grow.  This is questionable given recent low immigration trends in Israel as opposed to  a rapidly growing Palestinian population. She also neglected to mention that these jewish only settlements are illegal under international law and are one of the primary roadblocks to peace in the region. These settlements result in the theft of Palestinian land, demolition of Palestinian homes, and displacement of Palestinian people. Some of the daily acts of violence committed by the Israeli settlers include beatings, setting fire to olive groves and throwing stones at Palestinian school children. Support for illegal settlements shows that Sarah Palin isn't going rogue, she's going crazy!
