Sheepdog's Two Truths and One Lie

Rate: 6 Flag

Here's my contribution to the game today. Two are true and one is not.

1.) I worked backstage with a magician in college and learned the secret (won't be able to tell however) of the most often used technique to make levitation appear to be real.

2.) I have had the pleasure of meeting, hanging out or playing with some of the most seminal roots blues players in history, including Son House, Mance Lipscomb, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker, Taj Mahal and more.

3.) I have been on an airplane only once, after reaching age fifty and that was in a two seater on hot day full of thermals when we took off and landed two hours later in a pasture, narrowly avoiding the tree-tops as we came in.

 Pick the lie. Tell me why if you have time.

The answer will be added tomorrow.

I'll go with number 3.
I'm going to go with #1 because magicians love their secrets.
I'm going with #3. Interesting stories truth or not.
I'm gonna say No. 2. No one could be THAT lucky. But if it's true ... bless you, my son, you are truly favoured.
I'm going with #1, mostly because it sounded the most true....

If #2 is true, then you are indeed blessed. I've been blessed to Hear many of the greats before they passed. But to Play!

#3 seems true since it has so many details, and makes some sense to me - if it was your first time up, the person flying probably sold you on how much safer small planes are, the amount of control, etc.
I'm going with number 3. You had to have traveled by plane before the age of 50.
#3 and IF #2 is the truth, like connie said. you hve been blessed! (I'm gonna see Buddy Guy in 3 weeks)
and someday I'll learn to type... HAVE been blessed....
Still leaning toward #3
I'm going with #3 as the lie. Everyone knows there are no such things as airplanes. Flying machines, indeed!
I'd say number three is untrue. You made up some specifics to throw us off.
You know what... I'm gonna have to abstain! You already told me some of this stuff when we first met... don't wanna influence the voting :)
I'd also say #3. It probably happened but you'd been in a plane before. Who would go up in a two seater for their first time? And if you'd been in the music business, how would you travel anywhere by avoiding air travel?

denese
No self-respecting musician would go up in a small airplane, Buddy Holly RIP
So #3
I'm going with one---because those guys you played with had to have taken planes. . .
So which one was the lie?

It was #1

@ OE Sheepdog
Thanks for the fun idea !

@ocularnervosa
You got it right, but I don't know anything about magic. The only thing i know how to make disappear is money.

@Leonde Delmare
I do have some intteresting stories. Thanks for saying so.

@Boanerges1
It's been great to have had the opportunity.

@ConnieMack

Perfect score. And you got the reasons correct too.

@Cartouche
Nope. Wrong answer, but thanks for coming by.

@Fabflamingo

Thanks for coming by and your typing is fine with me.

@StWH

One who has time to stand around chewing grass in a field all day would notice the flying machines vs. airplane paradox.

@Brenda Gail
hanks for stopping by. Didn't make up #3.

@Skip

Need to get over to yours and see what's up. Thanks for swinging by here.

@Denese
Thanks for comimg by. Trains, bus, auto is the answer to your question.

@Ardee

Had the whole Buddy Holly thing in mind as we swooped over the farmlands. Yikes !!!

@Chicago Guy

Well you're right that a lot of them took planes. I just had to get to the gigs. No rules on how to do it, and a lot of the old cats I spent time with were tour bus types, or got here in an old Buick driven by some folklorist.

Thank you all.It was fun in between tasks yesterday to see so many stories.
gosh, it's nice being right!
[now, we gotta talk about those old days on stage]
