Where have all the flowers gone?
Mary Travers was remembered on what would have been her 73rd birthday. Just another funeral for a Baby Boomer? Or a rememberance of what she stood for and a movement that tried to change the world?Called by others who could hold the title, like Pete Seager, Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary was the voice of what became a world wide peace movement. Her death comes as a younger generation debates if another such movement may be needed here in the US and around the world.
The New York Times reports on her song, celebrity and emotion filled remembrance service in today's edition.
