This is very special, Ande. Thanks for sharing it. Before we were ever engaged, my husband wanted to put a pre-engagement ring on my finger, went to the strongbox he'd had since childhood, opened it with the key, and took out the first ring anyone ever gave him, a moonstone ring from a favorite uncle. It fit perfectly, and will always have a special place in my heart. So, I heart moonstone. Thank you.

You made me cry--good tears, appreciative tears. The way you related the moonstone to the nature of your relationship was perfect.

You reminded me of my children's grandparents. When their son and I divorced and I came back to town with husband #2 to drop my children off with their father for a visit, their grandparents insisted that we stay with them. They treated #2 like a welcome visitor, and they still treated me like a daughter. Since my parents were non-existant as grandparents, my children were very lucky to have their father's parents in their lives.
