Bio
This blog is about the journey from here to there. Early posts have devotional poetry and prose with scripture included. Many deal with the difficulty of having people in my life who are living with cancer and have died from cancer. Now I'm focusing on going back to college in my 50's and discovering a new path to direct my art--which is art therapy. _________________________________________ All of the artwork I created unless otherwise noted. If you'd like to buy one of my paintings or contact me to say oh, give me a million dollars to help me in my artistic endeavors : acreator3@gmail.com. Psalm 54

The Heavens Sound a Voiceless Song

butterfly sunset copysmaller

The heavens are telling
the Glory of God......
There is not speech, nor are there words;
their voice is not heard.
Yet their voice goes out through all the earth
and their words to the end of the world.1

I heard it once said that
Angels speak in colors
and paint in sounds.

Silently I wait
looking for Your voice
listening for Your vision
from heaven.

I call
Abba, Father
Your adopted child needs advice!2
I sing praises without words
as the birds of the morning.
They have no instruments
nor do I,
only the strings of my heart.
May I pluck a chord
that reverberates mutely with
distant angelic voices!

How can we know the
splendor and workings of God's Creation?
where was I
when you laid the foundation of the earth?
Who shut in the sea with doors
when it burst out of the womb?3
We know nothing of the inner workings
of all that exists.
We see a glimpse of your wisdom
through your son Jesus who said,

"My sheep hear my voice,
I know them and they follow me."4

We don't hear with our ears oh Lord.
With our hearts, we listen
and our spirit recognizes You.

The song of love is clear
in the beauty that surrounds us.
Let us not bound ourselves in these four walls.
Boxes all around us;
our homes, our buildings and our cities.
Come, feel the grass in your toes!
Hear the whispers of butterflies!

The pattern of the heavenlies are
too great for understanding.
Yet, beauty we can see.
Love, we are familiar.
Take just one thing that warms
your heart and multiply it
by infinity.
Only then can we begin to
fathom beyond the beyond!

1 Psalm 19:1 The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims his handiwork. 2 Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night declares knowledge. 3 There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard; 4 yet their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In the heavens he has set a tent for the sun, 5 which comes out like a bridegroom from his wedding canopy, and like a strong man runs its course with joy. 6 Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them; and nothing is hid from its heat. 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the decrees of the Lord are sure, making wise the simple; 8 the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is clear, enlightening the eyes; 9 the fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey, and drippings of the honeycomb.

2 Romans 8:
4 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. 15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, "Abba! Father!" 16 it is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ—if, in fact, we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.

3 Job 38:
6 On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone 7 when the morning stars sang together and all the heavenly beings shouted for joy? 8 "Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb?— 9 when I made the clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band, 10 and prescribed bounds for it, and set bars and doors, 11 and said, "Thus far shall you come, and no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stopped'?

4 John 10:
25 Jesus answered, "I have told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name testify to me; 26 but you do not believe, because you do not belong to my sheep. 27 My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 What my Father has given me is greater than all else, and no one can snatch it out of the Father's hand.  30 The Father and I are one."

Bless you. So good to acknowledge those inner workings are unknown in this world of relentless data. So much more filling to, as you write, " Take just one thing that warms your heart and multiply it by infinity."
Laura : I've come to a point in my life that if whatever it is that I am doing or participating in must have beauty or be a blessing in some way. Some things are unavoidable, but it is a goal worthy of setting , I think.
Butterflies are everywhere here -- it must be Spring!! And I'd say your heart reverberates sweetly!! So Beautiful, Anne, and you are way out in the expansiveness on this one! I Love it!!

(Reminds me of something I wrote and tweeted recently -- of course!)

I always Love it when "we begin to fathom beyond the beyond!" Beautiful!!
I loved this Anne! It is why we moved to MT. I need the example of the mountains and the rippling streams, caressing winds and kindnesses of strangers that are visual reminders of the spiritual symphony.
Carole, thank you!

Julie: I think it's wonderful when we are on the same wavelength! That sometimes happens with another OS friend!

Kathy--that's nice of you to say, but I don't think I am!

Landis- Even though I live in a small town my home is not in the country enough--that is my goal to get a good piece of land and turn it into an artist/spiritual retreat! Then we can visit each other!
I think all of us adopted children need advice. This opening is so lovely:

I heard it once said that
Angels speak in colors

Caroline: Yes, yes, yes! Three times a salon hiccup , I get to hear your comments! Thank you ! I like that too, I'm not sure where I heard it or if it is true but ever since then I've wanted to paint a symphony!
It is hard to understand these things but through grace we can have faith that one day we will.
Wanderer: that' s it! Through grace we may understand or least get a glimpse!
Beautiful.

May I pluck a chord
that reverberates mutely with
distant angelic voices!

I think you have.
Consonantsandvowels: Why thank you very much! It's so special when someone finds and older psalm, that requires a little digging. It's like getting a gift when it's not even Christmas!
