Bio
This blog is about the journey from here to there. Early posts have devotional poetry and prose with scripture included. Many deal with the difficulty of having people in my life who are living with cancer and have died from cancer. Now I'm focusing on going back to college in my 50's and discovering a new path to direct my art--which is art therapy. _________________________________________ All of the artwork I created unless otherwise noted. Take up your mat and walk-- or fly--Let go of your burdens!

Psalm 72

Are you frozen in body and soul?
Filled with guilt?
Unable to forgive yourself
or believe you are forgiven?
As the paralytic whose faith
and the faith of those who carried
him to Jesus; was instantly healed,*
we too, can find that faith
to be who we were made to be!

If we earnestly have prayed
for change or a desire in our hearts,
earnestly
without ceasing
and it comes from a place of love:
Today may be the day your prayer is answered!

"Could it be? Is it possible," you ask,
"after all these years?"
The answer is yes, yes YES!

However, it is going to take courage!
A paradigm shift,
letting go of old habits, doubts and fears.
AND embracing GLEE!
Yes, Glee!
If you have prayed
to be able to do what you love
and love what you do,
what does that equation equal?
LOVE.

Stop overcomplicating it!
We as believers are in the sanctuary of Jesus' love.**
For He said,
"Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh!"***

Rejoice and LISTEN
Cleanse your home and life of all that is not
in alignment with God.
Purify your temple
Sing songs of thanksgiving
as they did of old.****

Know Christ as your best friend
Know His voice
and he will guide you as he did
the disciples.*****

Oh Lord God,
Divine Presence
Protector and Provider
May I always and never
forget to see your guidance!
For each day you build upon this temple
Stone upon stone
making sure there are no cracks in our mortar.
So that we may glow in the golden brilliance of
You Our creator!

Let us be willing to be formed by You,
Believing that what you desire for us
is to be all that we are made to be!
So let us discard the old
that held us back and kept us from moving forward!
Our yoke is easy our burden is light!
Praising your Holy name
in a parade of celebration singing,
Christ Light Come,
Come, Light our path
for we are ready to
bask in your Glory and
reflect it for all the world to see!
*Luke 5: 17 One day, while he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting near by (they had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem); and the power of the Lord was with him to heal. 18< Just then some men came, carrying a paralyzed man on a bed. They were trying to bring him in and lay him before Jesus; 19 but finding no way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the middle of the crowd in front of Jesus. 20 When he saw their faith, he said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven you." 21 Then the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, "Who is this who is speaking blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" 22 When Jesus perceived their questionings, he answered them, "Why do you raise such questions in your hearts? 23 Which is easier, to say, "Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, "Stand up and walk'? 24 But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"—he said to the one who was paralyzed—"I say to you, stand up and take your bed and go to your home." 25 Immediately he stood up before them, took what he had been lying on, and went to his home, glorifying God.
**Hebrews 10:19 Therefore, my friends, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain (that is, through his flesh), 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful.
***Luke 6: 17 He came down with them and stood on a level place, with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea, Jerusalem, and the coast of Tyre and Sidon. 18 They had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases; and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured. 19 And all in the crowd were trying to touch him, for power came out from him and healed all of them. 20 Then he looked up at his disciples and said: "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 "Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you will be filled. "Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.
****2 Macabees 10:6 And they celebrated it for eight days with rejoicing, in the manner of the feast of booths, remembering how not long before, during the feast of booths, they had been wandering in the mountains and caves like wild animals. 7 Therefore bearing ivy-wreathed wands and beautiful branches and also fronds of palm, they offered hymns of thanksgiving to him who had given success to the purifying of his own holy place.

*****Acts 10:30 And Cornelius said, "Four days ago, about this hour, I was keeping the ninth hour of prayer in my house; and behold, a man stood before me in bright apparel, 31 saying, 'Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God. 32 Send therefore to Joppa and ask for Simon who is called Peter; he is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the seaside.' 33 So I sent to you at once, and you have been kind enough to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God, to hear all that you have been commanded by the Lord." 34 And Peter opened his mouth and said: "Truly I perceive that God shows no partiality, 35 but in every nation any one who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. 36 You know the word which he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace by Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all),

lovely. I hope there are no cracks in my mortar:)
Oh I'm sure we all have cracks from time to time, Caroline, but the architect will show us what we need to do
Mark, glad to have made your acquaintance and I always enjoy your posts!
You've found the greatest sanctuary of all. God bless you, Anne. Happy Sunday!
Happy in your beliefs, the generosity of the soul, encompasses man's burdens and brings peace.

Lovely, Anne, just plain lovely. The thoughts, the truths, the weave of the psalm. I'm reading this as my morning meditation for a Monday and it fits like a glove.

Monte
Monte, I am so glad I can offer a little blessing as you have blessed so many lives in a very real way!
Curiously enough, yesterday's Mass was on praying and praying ceaselessly. I hadn't been to Mass in months. Simply engaging in the ritual felt right, like doing something you haven't done in so long. And when you do, you feel like the world had been a bit awry and the axis was righted. But you had not noticed before that it was crooked.
Thank you for posting this.
Vanessa, I love when that kind of thing happens! You know, the world can chip away at us little by little, or we can gain precepts and wisdom from God little by little and build our trust in Him. And trust in ourselves that we are on the right course and hearing the voice of God.
Jali, I know from first hand experience, that sometimes we pray for things and it seems we have been praying for them for so long, and all the while God is making the necessary changes in our life to give you what you asked for. Then when everything is in place, we could miss the opportunity because of our own lack of belief that it is actually happening. And that in my current situation it is taking courage and a willingness to meet God to take that leap into the unknown.
