This blog is about the journey from here to there. Early posts have devotional poetry and prose with scripture included. Many deal with the difficulty of having people in my life who are living with cancer and have died from cancer. Now I'm focusing on going back to college in my 50's and discovering a new path to direct my art--which is art therapy. _________________________________________ All of the artwork I created unless otherwise noted. If you'd like to buy one of my paintings or contact me to say oh, give me a million dollars to help me in my artistic endeavors : See my art and purchase prints here: orginals: merchandise: __________________________________________ The scriptures are usually taken from the New Revised Standard w/ apocrypha or the New King James.

What is Prophetic Art? Part II

About a year ago I asked the question above: What is prophetic art? Now over a year has passed and I have completed 14, working on the 15th one. What I have discovered is just like the psalms that I did earlier in this blog, directed by scripture; these are like visualRead full post »

Art Therapy Directive: Self Mask

Mask making is a very primal artistic expression. Masks have been made by tribes for ceremony and ritual. There is symbolism with masks that represent the “masks” we wear every day. The person we show to the outside world can be very different to what

Marie Howe's Poetry

I first heard of Marie Howe, yesterday on NPR's "Fresh Air" with Terry Gross. One of the poems Marie read were "Prayer" from her book "Kingdom of Ordinary Time"  which I share here:
