CALLING ACES SPADES. In Spades

Rate: 1 Flag

All my Life I had been taught that if you want to solve a problem, or over come some obstacle, I would have to meet the situation head on. Ignoring the problem or delaying action will only cause more problems than I originally thought I had. Of course like everyone else I've met this challenge with varying degrees of success. Many times I didn't always make the right decision, but at least I had the experience of knowing what not to do the next time.

I want to take this time to thank President Obama and the rest of the left wing establishment for showing me the error of my ways. Who knew that instead of dealing with a problem myself I could just give it another more positive name or phrase, and then blame someone else for everything that happened before the change.

For example if I find myself in a financial mess; I can just rename any overwhelming debt that I may be about to default on, calling them toxic assets.Yes toxic assets, it has sort of menthol cigarette after a long night of drinking and debauchery ring to it.( Disclaimer:The national review board of politicaly correct rhetoric mandates that I assure everyone that this article does not in anyway condone smoking.) I can then take my newly acquired assets down to my bank and borrow more money.

The loan officer would be reassured that I was not in fact borrowing money, but signing off on an absolutely necessary recovery and investment package, that might possibly help me to avert an even larger crisis. Maybe. In the end, it all works out really well, because I won't have to pay off any of this debt anyway. Besides it was the banks predatory lending practices that forced me to take out this loan, that actually isn't a loan, in the first place. Who really cares my neighbor will pay it back, and I get to keep all my stuff. That's what's so great about this Obama era of shared responsibility, everybody gets to share in my irresponsibility and I really don't have to share anything.

The best part about this practice, as the President has showed us, is that you can apply it to any situation. For example suppose I decide to start breaking into peoples houses and stealing their stuff, I don't have to worry about feeling guilty about my new lifestyle choice because I can just tell myself and my family that I've taken up a career in foreign property displacement. With a title like that I can pillage my little heart out, kinda like not calling enemy combatants, well, enemy combatants. It's great you get to keep using all of the previous administrations tactics without having to publicly cozy up to those messy situations that you may have demonized during your campaign. Besides, you know that the press and the people who voted for you, aren't going to actually question you about anything anyway.

Another great thing about whatever form of nomenclature you use to describe your endeavors, is that none of it is set in stone. Better yet it is always "subject to further revision", exactly like the administrations Guantanamo bay policy. which as far as I can tell means: we can change our minds at anytime about this, or we really have no clue what to do. At the very least it means that you really don't have to make a actual decision right now. (DISCLAIMER: Due to it's title and the possible implications of racial insensitiveity, The Political Re-education Committe has placed this entire article under immediate review by order of  The Attorney General)
**The national review board of politicaly correct rhetoric is a subcommitte of the political re-eduucation committe, which is a subcommitte of the department of education, which has recently been placed under the direction of the department of homeland security. All inquires should be made in triplicate.**

Anthony, Anthony, Anthony,

You MUST be kidding.

I suggest you look up Conservative wordsmith extrordinaire, Frank Luntz. The one who made pollution "Clear Skies", the one who made logging "Healthy Forests", the one who made oil drilling "Energy Exploration", this guy put a smily face on Orwellian.

Anthony, are you really this guillible?
Rated. Rated... let's face it..verbal bait and switch is just a way to convince others to comply with your thinking. It is sterile speech to confuse and just make us "feel better". Maybe all of us temporarily metabolically abled (alive) who are considered differently logical (wrong) will rise up and scream STOP THE TWITSPEAK.....we can't take it any more.
jester, unlike the leftist I do call a spade a spade regardless of who tries to do otherwise. Political offiliation means nothing to me if you can't pass the smell test. and the last time I checked oil produces energy so yeah it's energy exploration. Wether you like it or not.
Anthony,

You are making ZERO sense, even your example "toxic assets" doesn't work, since IMHO something actually "toxic" is far worse than mere "debt". Wev.

Orwell was talking about your side bub, and to play your own game of "doublespeak" is the height of hilarity and hypocricy. Just remember that when you are pointing that finger, three are pointing back at you.
the leftist always wants to have it both ways. eventualy you have to face your schizofrania. you cannot embrace big government and then claim the flag of liberty. Or just an example from our climate czar today, who said that eventually we will be able to control or hold back the amount of power flowing to a home so that, say your air conditioner won't operate at full power. yeah thats the role for government deciding which houses are going to get power and who's arent. I'm sure that will be just so efficent and who exactly decides who get power & who doesnt, & something tell me that governemt higer ups won't ever have to worry about excessive heat or cold or controls on their electricity. But I guess those people are more Important than you and me. Just like I'm sure If they nationalize healthcare all those Congressmen and senators will get in line with everyone else. But it's not the quality of healthcare thats important it's the quantity isn't that right.
Again Anthony, open your eyes. The free market has already done what you are talking about. I lived through the rolling brownouts and blackouts in CA enabled by Mr. Bush buddy Ken Lay and Enron. You accuse the left of blindness while covering your eyes to the abuses of Capitalism by the right and it's business patrons.

Pathetic.

And if I wasn't a Socialist this morning, I am tonight. The business genuis that own my company eliminated my position this afternoon, along with a number of others because he made bad choices. So I'll be living off unemployment for awhile, and damn right I'm gonna take it.
Is this parody? I mean..we have an eagle and an American flag and everything..

I mean...there is even a wail regarding the tyranny of political correctness.

This HAS to be parody.
first jester let me say in all sincerity that i'm sorry to hear about your situtation. I hope you find another job soon, But let's not over look the reality of what capitolism has offered us. For one thing we have the best standard of living in this country than anywhere else in the world. I don't care what anybody says. Even the poor in this country in most cases have heat, food everyday, refrigerators, multiple t.v's, cable, cellphones, cars sometimes more than one car.
Belive me I know I live in the heart of philadelphia in a mixed neighborhood and I don't mean mixed income. Believe me brother the liberal war on poverty is a losing one. Even when the cost of fuel is high here it is still less expensive then the rest of the world. The price of goods & services is relatively low, all of this is due to capitolism, it is competition that keeps prices in check, not government. it is competition and capitolism that that gives us the ability to choose between so many different thing the market offers to us that we take for granted. And please don't assume that I take the side of companies like enron. you have alot to learn about what a conservative really is. My point is Government does not solve our problems when they try they only tend to create more of them. I'm sure if your good at whatever it is you do you'll find something soon. Me I choose not to take part in this recession. Ive sold cars for 13 years making what I consider a pretty good living. Mostly because I really don't care about money, it's much ,more important to me that I enjoy what I do, The money seems to just kinda come when thats the case. You know what,I had some health issues in december that forced me out of that job. So believe me brother I understand I got a son that just turned one, my first. no steady income andthe car market crashed last year, my income was off about 25000.But you know what God puts you exactly where your supposed to be. So I decide to dedicate myself to writing which is what i've wanted to do ever since high school. and best of all I get to be a father to my boy which I wouldn't be able to do if I was still working 12 hours a day. Most of all I know and have faith that things will work out for the best. I hope that you will do the same
