S~ “What is your most dominant characteristic?”
StarheadBoy- "Honesty, definitely honesty and not being able to keep my mouth shut sometimes."
S~ “Who would you say are your heroes and inspirations?”
StarheadBoy- "Right now, I don't feel like I have any heroes.. I feel like everyone is equally important. Everyone I run into has so much that makes them unique and who they are."
"Inspirations... hmmmmm, I don't know. I'm inspired almost all the time for some reason or another, I love it."
S~ “Where do you find inspiration for your characters?”
StarheadBoy- "I find my inspiration for my characters mostly through shapes and objects that I see around everywhere. A table, car, airplane.. whatever it is, I put a face on it and add some personality to it. Lately, I've been drawing and painting a lamp that I saw at Pratt. I was there hanging out with my cosmic brother Derek Wu, he was teaching a class on aerosol and painting a mural. That mural is on 20th avenue South and South Jackson, it's awesome. I draw a lot of animals as characters too."
S~ “Can you describe your work process and what media you use?”
StarheadBoy- "I construct paintings more like an engineer would than an artist, I push elements together and I usually don't have any more than just a loose plan, sometimes not even that. I grab colors and rely on instinct to lay colors down.. I don't have a clue about color theory or any of that stuff. As far as media, I love acrylics. They dry quick, for my style it's perfect. I have way too many ideas and images in my head to wait around for paint to dry."
"I draw constantly, just stream of conscious all the time. I usually go through a sketchbook a month. For drawing, I use the cheapest ball point pens that I can get my paws on, I love them. I draw way to hard and fast for microns.. I've destroyed that type of pen every time I've had one."
S~ “How do you feel about a structured art education?”
StarheadBoy- "Everyone has their own path and some people benefit from it."
S~ “What do you hope to accomplish as an artist?”
StarheadBoy- "I have no idea anymore and I don't even care. I'd like to inspire others, but besides that I'm just compelled to keep moving and building. I try to live in the moment as much as possible. I've lived a lot of my life in agony thinking, worrying, and trying to predict the future.I don't really care much about anything but the present moment anymore. I feel like it has completely freed me of the burden of the past and worry of the future."
S~ “What do you consider your greatest achievement to date?”
StarheadBoy- "I would have to say becoming completely comfortable with myself is my greatest achievement to date. My life is my work, so in turn I became completely comfortable with my style too.
I just do what I do. I feel more free than I ever have in my life."
S~ “Do you prefer collaboration and painting for an audience over studio painting?”
StarheadBoy- "I like collaborating with other artists with really definitive styles, I've always liked what it turns into, seeing how all the different styles flow together."
"Lately, I've been doing a lot of live painting in front of audience, I love it! There is a whole other electric energy to it, so much fun!"
S~ “Where can your fans go to see your work in person?”
StarheadBoy- "Right now I have work up at Two Birds Tattoo on Greenwood Avenue, Blue Star Cafe in Wallingford, Liberty Bar on 15th (Capitol Hill), and two pieces in a group show at Blick Art Supplies on Capitol Hill."
"I have tons of work in my apartment, anyone can email me and stop by. good times!"
S~ “You’ve recently published two books, how can your fans purchase those?
StarheadBoy- "All you have to do is go to Blurb.com. Put "starheadboy" in the blurb search bar and it'll bring both books up. There is a full preview of each book up, good times!"

StarheadBoy- "I have no idea where I fit in."
S~"Who are some of your favorite artists to collaborate with?"
StarheadBoy- "I've collaborated with so many amazing artists.. there's no way I could name them all. I don't want to leave anyone out."
