It's about this idea I pilfered, and it's not the first time either ...
says Cranky Cuss:
"Another repost: the very first thing I ever posted here that I thought had some creative merit. I hope to start posting some new stuff starting on Saturday..."
----------------------------------
He says he will start posting new stuff on SATURDAY, which we know is a shameful waste because the front page is stuck in a time warp from Friday until at least mid day Monday, and after 3 pm Friday you've missed the boat to post anything you'd like to see garner attention via the Front Page.
Now not all of us are here for that reason mind you, ::caughghcoughahhck:: but if you've been here longer than a mosquito's lifespan, you've notice the front page stays frozen in ambergris on Saturday and Sunday, and publishing on the weekend will never get anyone that coveted EP - you know you want it.
There's also the Moldy Oldy 3 Day 'Most Read' feed, which certainly doesn't update from Friday to Monday, (or any other day but I digress), rendering the exalted Front Page as limp as a .... a wet noodle, yeah - a wet noodle - for an entire 48+ hour period. For many of us, it's this selfsame 48 hours that we use to catch up on our reading around here.
I'd like to suggest a proclamation. We need something 'new' to read on the weekends, and we all have older posts we loved and felt had a wider audience appeal, but didn't get much readership (for whatever reason, who cares?) when they were initially published.
Maybe we were noobs and didn't get OS 'timing' back then, which is a fairly well studied, but not broadly discussed subject around here.
I mean why alert everyone to something we think only we have discovered, eh? (Try not to even look in the direction of that golden Easter Egg over there, somebody might snatch it up before you can get to it!)
So all those in favor of Repost Saturday, just do it! Talk it up by including "Repost Saturday" in the title and the tags of your re-published work. We'll all get to bring our 'old' stuff to the swap meet and have something new to enjoy over the weekend.
I'm publishing this on Friday morning! Reposters, Unite!
(I need something to read this weekend)

Thanks for this idea!
Rated with hugs and a repost
Saturday is a 'slow' news day around here, and it's not prime time for posting if you're after front page exposure, so save the great new stuff for weekday publishing.
Let's admit it - when will we ever see a re-post on the FP, much less get an EP? So serve 'em up folks! I know you've got 'em and I want to read 'em. Viva la Repost Saturday!
I am so full of shit I always want an EP and I have no clear idea what "natural" means in this context. I am perverse about my work.
OS 'timing'? um, what's 'that'? (whistles, scuffs shoes)
I like Repost Saturday. A lot. But I just promised about 80 OSrs i would not post again until I commented on all 80 of them at least once . I have a list. Gabby, you are #6, so far.
This is actually fun! Who knew there were OTHER good writers?
* I stole this. Just now.
Gabby, I like the Repost Saturday idea.

thanks and have a splendorous weekend!
In a nutshell - Front page stuff is generally updated daily on weekdays. OS front page is deader than an unplugged TV on weekends, so it's suggested you save the 'good stuff' for a weekday - when you might have a chance for front page exposure or, god bless you, an EP! That stuff doesn't happen on weekends.
Re-treads on Saturday spices up the joint a little, and there's nothing to lose - these pieces won't be picked for the front page precisely because they've already been published. On the other hand, they keep local traffic moving over the weekend and give everyone something to read on Writers Day Off.
Capice? Congrats to everyone, it's looking good out there today.
I've been posting music things many Saturdays because I don't care if they're considered for the front page. But I can switch to another day. Saturdays seem like a good day for reposts.
