It’s amazing how people do not follow nor understand the rules of the road. Especially when a bicycle is involved.
Bicycles are considered a “vehicle” and as such must follow the rules of the road as pertaining to a “moving vehicle”. This means riding on the correct side of the road. That is, the flow of traffic...that is moving the same direction as a car! Also, a bicyclist must follow traffic rules.
This means stopping at stop signs/traffic lights, yielding when appropriate, and using hand signals. I’ve yet to see a bicyclist in our town use hand signals OR follow the rules.

Bicyclists are not pedestrians! Pedestrians walk AGAINST traffic. Bicycles go WITH the traffic as they ARE traffic. They are NOT supposed to be on the sidewalk. Though I do usually have Arlyn ride on the sidewalk for his safety as I’ve witnessed and reported a few cars “clipping” a bicyclist and not stopping. My understanding is this is considered a hit and run, though I’ve never been called as a witness in these cases.
I’m ranting because, on my way home this morning, I was subject to people yelling at me to “get off the road” and “You’re on the wrong side of the street”.
I say to these people and everyone who is reading this ..READ THE RULES OF THE ROAD” so you won’t make an ass out of yourself and show just how ignorant you really are.
