Obama acts mavericky, breaks protocol.. THIS IS A BIG DEAL

Rate: 0 Flag

The president broke "protocol" today by acting all mavericky and going to his daughter's soccer game without the sycophantic press core swinging from his nuts.  Do you think this is not news?  I do.  Evidently breaking a "protocol" for dealing with the press, will be made into news.... by the press.

"The White House press corps traditionally travels with the president anywhere he goes, inside and outside the country, to report on the president's activities for the benefit of informing the public and for historical record."

Yeah, his daughter's soccer game will be of interest to the public record.  Thanks for all your help preventing the Iraq war and rolling over like a dog on its back during the Bush years White house press corps.  Now you get some backbone and express outrage over Obama's grevious breach of a traditon that you guys made up.  The white house press corps sounds more like whining paparazzi in suits than actual reporters... How about growing a pair and asking some tough questions like Helen Thomas instead of following Obama like TMZ, and whining when he gets away for a second.

I wish we had a lot more Helen Thomas's instead of the lap dogs they have now. What if a Glenn Greenwald, Jeremy Scahill, Amy Goodman, and Chris Hedges were in the WH press corp. We might actually get to know the truth and get a government that is responsive to the people.
@Alaska Progressive Don't say things like that.. I got all worked up imagining democracy working correctly! You shouldnt put thoughts like that in my head!
Hell, he probably figured his daughters team was gonna lose, so he didn't want the press there.

I'm not knocking the kid, but one loser in the family is enough. If she had won or lost she probably would have stood up to it better than he.
