You read a few poems by Wendell Berry on:` The Prairie Home Companion a few years ago. I loved that show the night you were Garrison K.'s Special Guest.

I really was in the lousy movie:` Gods and Generals. It was a backup rich bloke in a black top hat. I had the slave-owner role. If you blink, you miss it. The audition was in historic, Civil War, Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. sigh.

I reluctantly auditioned. Our great, and funny lazy-farm-hands, wanted to quit farming and be a Beverly Hills Hillbilly? My audition was to replay/enact:`

"O what a beautiful day to die. I have not previously had the opportunity to visit these beautiful mountainous areas, and see the Potomac River towns."  (last words) 

My audition role was to play John Brown. Then, I was blindfolded, and pushed from behind. I  stumbled up the gallows to be hung. (this was not in the movie. it was my playing a actor gig. career. a fun gig. just one movie was enough. O, good food was served. I'd do a movie for free food again?) No? Yes?

Who's life?

O one hung.

O mandolin.

O no lose heart
