The first time my mother told me to put on a bra I was 12 years old, devoid of breasts but in possession of a rather large set of nipples. I objected, but she won that day. It was an uncomfortable day, and I decided that I would only wear a bra if it was comfortable.
Here's the secret: Very few bras are comfortable unless your breasts are large enough to bounce around. I've remained small breasted, and I still find wearing a bra uncomfortable. I don't wear see through or white tops to work, yet at one jobs it was an issue.
"Mark (the asshole owner) heard you don't wear bras. I know they suck, but could you wear two t shirts?" This from the kindly manager of the dry cleaners, Chrystal. It was often about 90 degrees during the summer, and though I was willing to wear dark t shirts only, I felt it was unreasonable to wear two. She agreed with me. I wondered why Mark was looking, but figured one of my treacherous teenage co workers had complained to him.
About two weeks later, Chrystal pulled me aside with a grin on her face.
"Some man called the store and said he wanted to pick up his dry cleaning, not visit Hooters."
I smirked. I was secretly pleased that someone thought my a cups qualified me to be a Hooters girl.
"I'm sorry. I'll stick to loose dark shirts, OK?"
I really don't think that it's exhibitionist to wear a dark form fitting t shirt without a bra. Clearly, Chrystal didn't either, as she saw my out fits every day.
I realize that I have to wear a bra if I want a professional position, but is it really that big a deal if women go braless?

My mother and aunts always put the fear of COOPER DROOP into me so I never parted with my bra from age 14 afraid that I would have nipples at my knees!
