wet snow drapes the trees
in coats of silent whiteness
as the world slows down

LL2: Thank you!

WSFTC: Thank you! Seems like our weather often goes on to Toronto, but this storm isn't following a normal pattern. Maybe you'll see some winter white by the weekend.

We might have enough snow for x-c skiing tonight, but it's likely to get wet then icy tomorrow. Grrr!!!! Bad side effect of global warming, IMO. Our windows of opportunity for skiable snow are too often measured in hours now instead of days.
...and silence ensues. I love the hush that falls - even in the city - with the snow. Nicely done.
Messy when it melts, but oh so beautiful when it softly lands . . .
Your poem is exactly why I love winter.
Thank you, all.

MM: It always amazes me how much more beautiful any place can be with a fresh blanket of snow.

Owl: Exactly.

Frank: This is my favorite part, too.
You make snow look great, and I hate snow!

Scanner - Thank you. There are many days when I love looking at the snow. Getting out and having to shovel it can be an entirely different thing, and result in a less than poetic state of mind and body.
McKenzie's right -- the silence that your photos remind me of is the best part.
I love the quiet of a day with fresh snow. I hear sounds of nature more clearly then.
