more from the 80s

Seeing all your pictures and videos has been like time travel.  Most of my memories from then are fun.

In this picture, my hair is pulled back, so you can't tell how long and thick it was.  It went most of the way down my back and was like a small unruly shrub - the reason it was pulled back for a dressier occasion.  Look at the picture below, where it's trimmed back considerably compared to 1980, and use your imagination.  I couldn't find a photo that showed the shrub in its full glory.

Cindy was one of my closest friends in my early years in New Hampshire.  After she got married and had kids, we didn't have nearly as much time to hang out together.

Here are a few favorite tunes from back in the day.  Enjoy!

How nice to see you! ...even if it is the 80s : )
Life seemed so carefree then...
A lot of it was carefree, between the darker moments. I'd rather remember the good ones.
I like it! And you are wearing my favorite color, too. ~r
One of my favorite memories from back then is going with Cindy to see UB40 at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium (Lowell, MA). Nearly everyone was dancing and really rocking the house. Got other good memories with that UB40 tune, too. Great fun!
It's definitely my favorite color. I wish that I still had that jacket, and that I could fit into it. ;)
Steppin out- damn I loved that song...ok, got to listen to the other ones, too.
That suit is smokin!
Yeah, Joe Jackson was a highlight for sure. I loved that suit.
I wish I had seen Prince in concert :/
psychobabble: Great pics and Blondie, UB 40, Stevie Ray, Bonnie Raitt. I've got a hankering for some old songs!!
Julie - I never got to see Prince in concert, but I'd imagine those were some amazing shows back in the day.

Scarlett - Glad you enjoyed the tunes. Musical time travel is always a good time.
The 80s was a doggone good time! Big hair, shoulder pads, decent nail colors. Mens. Life was good. You were and are cute as a button.
It feels strange to realize that 1980 was already more than thirty years ago. How time passes! Thank you for showing your early photos and sharing the music.

Thanks. Yeah, it feels really strange to realize it's been over 30 years since that first photo was taken - makes me feel old.
Fun! love the three piece suit ! Joe Jackson, glad you played along, bikepsychobabble..
Great music! Thanks for sharing.
These 80s pics are a hoot. Thumbs up for Steppin' Out bsb.
Rita - It was fun to join in. It actually wasn't a 3-piece suit. I found a purple shirt with white collar that was a couple of shades darker than the suit jacket and skirt. They made a fun combination.

Abrawang - Any day's a good day for Joe Jackson.
Excellent - the big hair. A woman of the times.
watching Steppin' Out again.
Video really killed radio in so many ways. I remember people sounding really good. Now they have to both sound passable and look passable and it's lowering the quality of the songs and singers.
eh...oh well :D ha! change, gotta love it. It's not like you can fight it.
Stim - It was natural big hair - big whether I wanted it to be or not. ;)

Julie - Yep, things are gonna change. It's a shame that musical talent had to be pushed aside for the sake of appearance. We've gotten prettier, emptier packages. I won't be buying Taylor Swift albums anytime soon.
