The End of Democracy in America

Rate: 4 Flag

I really just don't care anymore.  I don't care that America has been slowly dying for most of my adult life.  I don't care that my fellow citizens squandered the ONLY OPPORTUNITY this species will ever have to create a worldwide Utopia.  I don't even care that people are arming for war and secession.  America does not have a culture of politics, just a pile of stupid, illogical lies and bullshit from both sides.  What the fuck was Obama talking about when he said "We're sorry to be losing General McCrystal." We didn't lose McCrystal, you fired him because he insulted you.  And I don't want to get down on Obama here, because he isn't the problem.  The fact that he chose to continue every single important Bush-era policy is a problem, but no one realizes that because of the goddam corporate media.  It drives me insane to hear Biden defend the president by saying, "But we did the same things Bush and Cheney did!  Why are you mad?"

BECAUSE THAT IS NOT WHY WE ELECTED YOU.  Although this is really our own fault for thinking Obama wanted to change anything.  I mean, would you willingly give up dictatorial control over the largest military empire in world history?  I sure wouldn't.  We can't go back to the Republic.  Obama is just trying to keep America alive on life support.  And his efforts, while successful in the short run, were always doomed to fail.  Obama is a black scapegoat, placed in charge of an unfixable situation long enough to take the blame for a half century of massive deficits and war profiteering, after which the republicans will take over again on the promise of a glorious return to the Reagan years, and by then it will be too late.  The window into the true power structure will be closed forever, leaving any chance of a golden age of peace and prosperity dead.  Times like this remind me of HST's quote about Richard Nixon, that people like him never really realized what a monument to everything good and decent this country could have been if we had kept it out of their hands.  The decision was ours, the information was available, and we chose empire.   So let's be realistic:  Obama couldn't reverse time, even if he wanted to.  The place I grew up doesn't exist anymore.

I mean, what the hell is wrong with the American people?  Why are we so lazy and gullible?  America is the stupidest, fattest culture available.  There is no longer any doubt about that; even the supplemental census data agrees.  More time on television, more on food, but less on family and self-improvement.  I don't talk about the Tea Parties much, because I really hate them and the vitriol tends to boil over.  Not for any political or social reason, but for the simple fact that they have NO IDEA what they're actually fighting.  Seriously.  The left and the right are protesting the same things, and the reason America needs a media is so no one will realize that simple fact.  It hurts to live in America and be able to see both sides of a given issue.  Once that happens, everything falls apart in your mind because our cultural conscience is entirely built upon the false left-right dialectic.  Look at what has happened to the Judiciary, look at the fight over Elena Kagan.  The republicans don't have a real problem with Kagan, but they're going to fight her because their base no longer cares about the issues.  Our brains have been melted to the point that we (as a country) can only respond to vague emotional inputs which prevent any real information from reaching the masses.  The right will tell you Kagan is an activist judge, while the left attacks Roberts and Scalia for "legislating from the bench".  Want to hear a secret?  Every single judge who has ever written a brief in this nation was an activist judge.  How many Americans remember Marbury v. Madison?  Maybe one percent?  Well, Mar v Mad was the court case in which the Supreme Court decided it had the right to conduct judicial reviews.  That's right.  The constitution does NOT give the supreme court the right to overturn laws.  Every time a conservative judge calls a law unconstitutional and strikes it down, the action itself is unconstitutional.  But we allow the SC to continue because America doesn't really understand that past or the rapidly approaching future, or how an untended republic will inevitable, always, consistently turn into a dictatorship.  I can't do this anymore.  You people are on your own.  I won't be joining you in the streets when you realize America no longer exists.

Oh, and by the way, Glenn?  That document for which you probably paid $50,000 dollars, the original letter from Jefferson that reads "In the year of our lord, Christ, 1807"?  Your piece of proof that America is a Christian Nation?  Yeah, Jefferson didn't write that.  You bought a form-feed letter signed by the president in order to authorize a naval deal.  That's why the signature had different handwriting than the body text.  Have fun leading America toward the guillotine, jackass.  If you really understood history you wouldn't be so eager to get to the head of that flash mob.  Pull your tea party shit in Boston and I'll show you what the real patriots do when someone fucks with their country.  I'll give you a hint:  You'll be crying for real, not simply because caucasians are no longer the majority.

This is so sad, but very honest! I feel the American people have been dumbed down with tabloid TV and religion. Tabloid TV to see that they really aren't so bad off, religion to allow unjust and illegal ideas to be acceptable because the "Bible" says so! R
The real problem is not Obama, or even Bush. The problem is that the American people are willing to let politicians and corporations run their country.
quite the rant there.
my old history teacher had a saying. [applicable to the false right/left paradigm].. "city A fights city B, city C wins". or, simply, divide & conquer. sheeple led to the slaughter.
It'ds already here
