So, I just read an article about a new Congressional effort for a student loan forgiveness package.  It just so happened that while looking for my student loan information for today's meeting with our banker (to show I repaid off both of my loans early), I found a long-lost version of Alan Ginsberg's Howl.....      

Howl (Against Student loans)  

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by
      student loans, starving hysterical graduates,
dragging themselves through the gilded streets at dawn
     looking for an easy fix,
     looking for Change,
angelheaded hipsters looking for the American dream
     a crazy debt-fueled dynamo in
     in a perpetual motion machine,
who in poverty and tatters
     spent weeknights in the bar,
who argued with their teachers when they
    didn't get an automatic A and a "good job" sticker,
who passed through universities with young eager eyes
    hallucinating automatic six figures on Wall Street
    among the scholars of prosperity,
who punched every ticket but didn't get the
    corner office with the obscene odes
    and the windows of the lesser streets below,
who crammed and showed up for the test
    reducing it all to a number
    who is best of the best
who thought the world was in their debt
    suburban dreams of just deserts  
    the sweet manna of progress
who asked for more water when the well ran dry
    and the oasis burned their feet.
