Bio
Hi I'm BB, I've been BB on the web as long as there has been a web; I'm a Telecommunications Tech in Maryland, with a lifelong fascination with History and Politics, I consider myself an Eisenhower Republican, but given the center today, I find myself a registered Democrat, I tend to be progressive on Economic Issues, and more conservative socially, and an absolute hawk on Foreign affairs. I was raised one of the worst Neighborhoods of Buffalo in the 60´s and 70´s and I know what it is to be poor by personal experience; vs a academic point of view. I was lucky enough to get a collage scholarship by virtue of being the 7th smartest student in the stupidest high school in New York State, so I make no claims to brilliance, but I believe if you give this blog a chance you will find I have a point of view that is interesting, and often at odds with the expected point of view, on the left or right. I am a big fan of Ed Schultz, Joan Walsh, and Jane Hamsher. I have real respect for Rachel Maddow, although she drives me nuts as often as I agree with her. Blessings, BB.

Pres Won!!! Paper towels, Bread.

Rate: 1 Flag

That’s the note I woke to this morning,
My wife was still up at 2am, I had gone to bed early as I had a 4:15 Wake up for day watch; but I wandered out a couple hours to go; but Ls note said a lot; how happy and relieved she was the Pres got re-elected; she was Terrified 'Obama care' would be repealed; and the insurance company would call her up to inform her, "Mrs Murphy, you are a preexisting condition; and the fact our lives go on, shopping still needs to be done, the car will still need gas, and the rent will still need to be paid.

But I think she and I are both a little happier today, happy the GOP has been chastised for promising Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! And then delivering only anti choice legislation and gridlock.

One hopes that congress will now pull its head out of the sand; stop blaming the President for the cuts they insisted on prior to the last debt ceiling deal and actually take a step towards governing responsibly; it would be nice to meet the Ostra Bunny too.

No I very much expect the GOP will double down, they will insist to themselves Romney was not conservative enough and only a pure, radical, republican agenda can save the country and salvage their electoral prospects; so I for one expect less cooperation from the Congress; but hopefully now the Dems have learned their lessons; and will put aside fluffy talk about reaching across the Aisle; put the bully pulpit to use and hammer the GOP for their obstruction on the Fiscal Cliff, on the Debt Fight, and on every other issue between now and 2014.

Hopefully the Pres will put aside his love of Lincoln and Wilson and channel a little FDR this term; if they hate you, "Embrace their Hatred."

Blessings, BB.

There are many lessons to be learned from this election, but those lessons won't likely be learned by Teapartians. They'll likely insist on an even more "severely" conservative candidate next time.

It remains to be seen whether the real movers and shakers in the Republican Party will take these lessons to heart. It also remains to be seen whether the Hard Right will let them do anything about it.

But this is no time to gloat, it's time to get to work, because it also remains to be seen whether the Republican Party can repair its badly-burned bridges to minorities.
All True Tom, every word you said, thank for taking the time to reply. BB.
