Did the Dog REALLY Eat Your Homework?

Rate: 5 Flag

So I was driving to work through my neighborhood this morning, and I saw what appeared to be two police squad cars in front of a neighbor's house--only the colors of the vehicles weren't right. I slowed down to get a better look, and in fact it was two A.I.S.D. squad cars. However, also noticed something even more peculiar. Both cars had block-lettering on the side that identified them as the "K-9 Unit." What the hell? The Austin Independent School District has a K-9 Unit? I wish I had my camera with me to take a photo, but trust me, I’m not clever enough to make up something as ridiculous as this.

Of course, all I could think was that some stupid kid used the old, "The dog at my homework" excuse a few too many times. What else could it be, right? But little did that poor sod know that the school district would actually bring the heavy guns over to inspect the evidence, or in this case I'm sure, a complete lack of evidence.

It also got me wondering what this world is coming to. I mean, what's next? Is the Post Office going to send people over to check and see if I've really put the check in the mail, under penalty of mail fraud? It's not that far of a leap, let me tell you! Or maybe the school district will ask for a new bond issue to develop a special coroner’s unit to make sure someone's grandmother really did die last week. It boggles the mind, I tell ya.

Or maybe someone's playing truant from obedience school?

Ah, Texas. Seems to me they just like having police for everything.
Don't forget the tags on your furniture cushions. You tear those off and some swat team with nice color coded uniforms and gaudy epaullettes might come bursting through the door as well.
Funy story. I found this on Rob's post about your best post ever. I liked what you wrote how yours was ignored, so I had to check it out! Good stuff.
