Digesting The Word

To each his own
for tastes may vary
while the message touches some,
others pass
for what is written
somehow does not make their lifeblood flow.

Understood
and documented,
for I too skip like stones across the water,
settling finally for something
that brings me to a deeper place.

In retrospect
I’ve often wondered of
the lost opportunity
that flew south
while I pondered north,
escaping my view
even though it was there all along.
