By Our Words…

I found myself without a friend for something that I said
and though I’d said a million things this one had made me dead
to her and all her hopes and dreams; for each who had a face,
somehow I slipped the balance beam and fell out of her grace

As always in my daily life my mouth preceded me
although I thought I had insight, I guess I could not see,
that one false word had brought me down; a bullet to the brain
and now I mourn a long, dear, friend who shall not come again

I just did this. I hope you don't feel like a clod - I know I do. I loved the way this was paced. Good write, BD. /R

Exquisitely crafted and so well-expressed. I have been there and my sadness comes to the surface for both of us and for the ones we have hurt.
The beauty is that we both can see what we have done - so there's always a chance to learn. Rated with admiration.
Nice write, Blinddream... this goes perfectly with what I'm going through with my sons. : (
