"The paths we're walking on, they crumble behind us." Ben Harper.
As I was driving home from work saturday night, I looked to the left off 39th street to a street called Roanoke and saw many emergency vehicles. I wondered what was happening but I did'nt check it out. I wish I would have gone down there now.
I did'nt see any flames or smoke, but it turns out, the apartments at 38th and Roanoke had been set ablaze. I learned of this sunday when I went back to my job and found out what happened because a co worker was involved. Her name is Amanda and she is now temporaryly homeless due to the fact that one of her neighbors, A girl named "Treasure" torched the place because she was being evicted. The cops caught her and now she has a place to stay, but she made my friend homeless practically. This happened less than three days after she got a smoke detector from the fire dept as they were inspecting our restaurant.
I feel really bad for her and wanted to offer her my couch to sleep on if she needed it but I did'nt as she seemed to have things under control and her ex boyfriend was helping her. It just felt weird because I just asked her out for drinks at Jazz last friday, and now this weird shit happens. I guess you can tell I kind of like her? She seems a little too close to her ex? though! I don't know what to do now, I'm just glad she is ok and no one was hurt in this senseless act. Her poor fish froze to death though.
I have a low paying gig at the Newsroom this week on thursday night, I got my cat neutered. Felt bad about it. Blindog will be on youtube soon and myspace and so on. I found out that the book "The wizard of oz" was symbolic of the American economy.
And now I'm off to read the Wizard, the wonderful wizard of oz.
In the land of oz..........................Be well everyone!
