I remember when I was very young that my dad and his frend, Bill Peters were having a political conversation at the dinner table about the controversy of the US Govt. allowing utility companies to build nuclear power plants. It was during the energy crisis so we were looking for alternative power sources. I barely remember this as it was probably 1971 and that was a long time ago but it seems like the women were against it and thought it was dangerous to human life if anything went wrong. This would have been my mom and Margo Peters. I don't remember where my dad stood on this but I remember Judge Peters being for it because we, as a society, had become dependent on electric power in our lives. "Where else are we gonna get the electricity?" he said.
Now that these accidents have happened, 3 that I know about including Japan, I have to wonder if there was'nt a better way, even back then.
I know we have better and greener technology now, but will we use it? Obama still wants to build new ones! I hope he will reconsider.
I have seen some disturbing pictures about Chernobyl via Steve Quayles website. I have to try and share them with you.
Our nearest nuclear plant is Wolf Creek, which is in Kansas about 90 miles southwest of where I live. Check to see where yours is just incase something happens and you need to evacuate if you have the means.
We must ask ourselves, Is it really worth all this suffering?

I think I could give up my tv and computer and just light candels and burn campfires if I had known real people had to suffer that bad, literally being reduced to helpless animals or worse than that!
