I was having a bad day sunday, just little shit mostly. Could'nt get a phone card because a stupid woman could'nt figure out how to pay her bills, so I left there to go to the bank to deposit my check so I could add funds from my check card, no deposit envelopes.
Went to quicktrip and got my phone turned back on and bought pic 3 numbers. That was ok. Had to wait in line for water, no big deal.
Went over to my freinds house and this asshole Tim Woods started flipping me shit about about my car. I hate it when people I don't like talk to me. I just listen and try to joke back with him because he's fuckin crazy and I don't want to fight him. My truck is running like shit right now!!!!
It was just a weird day so far.
I went to the bank in brookside and was able to make my deposit, cool!Ran into an old friend at Charlie Hoppeers and we talked for awhile. Chad Rex, a fellow musician and former co worker. Ate some good fish and cole slaw there, days getting better right! No, wrong!
I thought I would go by my friend Jim's house since I was in the neighborhood. Knocked on the door, no answer. Dogs were barking but there was no human around so I thought he is just out riding his new scooter that I helped him find on craigslist. Wrong again!!
His neighbor Pat, a woman from down the street told me he had an accident on the scooter on friday night and was at truman medical center in an induced coma from various head and body injuries. I told her I was sorry to hear that and I would try to see him and find out what I could about his situation.
My friend Kim called down there for me and found out where he was and we went to visit him at the ICU surgical unit. The hospital was eeriely quiet and slow I guess because it was sunday and july 3rd.
We finally found him after walking around a bit. He was lying in a bed with tubes comeing out of his head, mouth and arms. He was on a respirator. He was not moving. We could not talk with him, to make a long story short, he did not look good. The only thing the nurse could tell us is that he was stable and that they would try to bring him back when 72 hours of coma time had elapsed.
Jim has been my friend for about 30 years, and we have'nt always seen eye to eye, I still love the guy and I pray that he makes it out of this alive and without brain damage.
I had to drink after this horrible day was over, just to be able to try and deal with this.
I want to thank Kim for going to the hospital with me. I could'nt have done it alone!
I want to thank Don for talking with me and letting me sleep on the couch.
And as Tink sais, goodnight and have a better tommorrow!
Compassion is sometimes the fatal capacity for feeling what it is like to live inside somebody else's skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too.

Its not keeley but a different jim.
And yes, a better tomorrow indeed!
Only time will tell ric. someone is probably never gonna be the same after this close of a call.
I wanted to ride that bad motor scooter, tink, but Jim would not let me. He said that if anyone rolled it, he wanted to be the first. How ironic but I did'nt think it would be this bad!
