Sorry that this installment of “cat(s) of the week” is a little late...but my job sort of got in the way of my writing. How unfair is that?!!!
So this week, it’s a 2-for-1 deal: the clinic cats Elliot and Harley.

As you can see, the two of them get along swimmingly, although they couldn’t be more different. Elliot is a beige and white male, loves to snooze, and is very laid-back. Harley is a pale, grey tabby, is female, and lives to rile up the patients, doctors, and anyone else who visits the clinic.
Elliot was initially a patient with chronic ear infections. No matter what medicine was dispensed, the infections kept coming back. It got to the point that Elliot spent more time at the clinic than at home, so his family hugged him good-bye, and he became an official clinic cat.
His favorite spot in the clinic is his basket on the front desk. When he first moved in, any number of clients were heard to comment that it was in extremely bad taste to have a stuffed cat on the counter of a vet clinic. It was usually at this point that Elliot would roll over and give them the dreaded cat’s eye!
Harley came to the clinic courtesy of Animal Control. As just a wee kitty of maybe 2 months, she bit someone, and became a rabies suspect. If AC had brought her to the local shelter (I use that term loosely in this case), they would have “dispatched” her and sent her tiny brains in for analysis. The clinic, on the other hand, was known to have a soft spot for strays, and so Harley (since she really was hell-on-wheels) got to spend her 6 weeks of quarantine and observation there – and never left.
Harley has been known to pick fights with very large dogs, has bitten Dr. Wonderful when he tried to get her away from the very large dogs, and sees no reason she can’t be right in the big middle of things in the exam room. When not bothering Elliot or some other poor animal, she can be found perched in some high location catching some zzzzzzzzz’s.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this short visit with the clinic kids!
The end!
PS I apologize for the poor quality photos...they were taken with my cell phone.

I didn't know clinics had cats, it is a great idea. The more and more I see of it, I really think you have an ideal life. Are you a vet?
