Riding Go Lite In To Sleep

When I’m tired but cannot sleep, 

I close my eyes and ride my thoroughbred. 

He canters on his left lead,  

My legs are long and firm against his barrel, 

My back is strong. 

The surroundings are blank. 

I feel his stride, I see his legs. 

We fly. 

He carries me into sleep.

I was just getting to know horses when my body failed me. I have just enough experience for this to be truly evocative. Usually I float to sleep, but I'll give riding a try.
