Every time one of these contained outbreaks show up, the media frenzy is like a bad action movie. Unless I hear of a case in my direct area, I ignore it. It's what our media has become.

The groceries are going to start disappearing off the shelves soon... people are going to get scared and stock up and buy guns. They think the end is near... Me, I'm staying home... if you have a headache or muscle ache... don't come visit!!! :)

Yes, panic is so entertaining, so is blaming all of this on factory farming and the evil corporate farms. Truth be known, there was a heck of a lot more transfer of pathogens between humans and livestock when everyone raised their own meat animals - just look at who catches Avian Flu - the folks dealing with the birds on a day to day basis. I'm not a proponent of raising livestock squished to the gills, but I also don't agree with adding that to what should be an epidemiological argument.
