Him is quite crazy!!!

The last shot is the one that defines a certain persnickety little industriousness.
Awww. I love this. What a clever little fellow he is. Of course he's going to have to hire some protection with his stash out in the open like that.
That's hysterical! Kinda reminds me of Hammy in "Over the Hedge."
Umm....it's only going to take one good puff of wind, or one too many pine cones, and the whole thing is going to result in major tragedy. Well, not major, but he'll have to get the bird house nailed back on and then gather the whole bunch together and...whew. To me that much effort is tragic.
Nice photo-essay, Gary. Time to get ready for winter, I guess.
Hope no one steals his stash. I just read an article in Wa Po that all the acorns are missing this year and the squirrels are starving. All - not just some states, but nation wide. Bizarre. None of the naturalists have a clue why. Looks like this guy has himself covered though - and he looks quite satisfied with himself too!
Back on my terra firma, all the pecan trees - squirrels major source of grub over the winter - failed this year. Which means, really, they failed 2 years ago when the seeds were actually set after the blooms. One hurricane and one bad drought. There may have to be major drops of sunflower seeds and imported (not from China!) pecans to keep them alive over the winter. Acorns are plentiful, but these are truly spoiled squirrels.
