I'm not very good with the comments so I'm posting this instead for a certain someone.
They'll figure out it's for them.

you are a really nice guy Bob.
Absolutely....one of the best guys in the History of the World....
Really nice, Bob, really nice.

Made me smile.
I'm fond of a quote by Paul Tillich: "Doubt isn't the opposite of faith; it's an element of faith."
well i guess i'm not the only one then. hope your friend won't let the bastards get him/her down!

Nice post. Very thoughtful (of course)
: )

Looks like the view from Aaron Copeland's house....
Bob, you're such a class act
I feel better already! I hope your friend does too!
Beautiful..... hope it works out.
you are a good guy Bob :)
Oh...that wasn't for me? Coulda been, so thanks from me also!
Thanks, all. Kipouros, I guess, it's good advice for us all, including me!
Very nice and you are a good friend, helping someone unknown but helping us all. Thank you.
Thanks Mary, but no, I'm just a smartass. I just read Dorinda Fox's recent post about teaching and it humbles me. Like so many here, she is speaking from the heart and being raw and honest.

I am very lucky. I am not dealing with the health issues and problems friends here are addressing...but I AM also happy that my goofing off is a distraction to a couple of people. That's cool.
Very kind. At the very least, your friend knows how much you care. One can be shored up quite a bit just by knowing someone's out there, looking out for them.
Like C.S. Lewis put it, God wants me to think "What will I do?" whereas the Devil wants me think "What's going to happen to me?"
Without each other, where'd we be?
thanks for bringing your fresh and spot-on perspective to all of us here at OS. You've a great eye.
What I want to know is ... why doesn't the light travel up the tunnel to meet us?
Timely for me as well, in ways you wouldn't know. Thanks, Bob. I hope it helps your friend.
Very inspiring Bob. You are a very good friend to all. Not to mention the receiver of this message.

You're a very good guy Bob. :) Doubt is a toughie. Always ready to kick you in the butt when you aren't looking.
My jobseeking tunnel has been bleak. Thanks for posting something even strangers need.
Sorry to hear Gregor. For what it's worth, I've never had a rougher time myself career wise. This piece above is becoming more and more about myself.
