Wonderful piece.....Bob, there are better times on the way.....
this is funny...hang in - I for one believe you will zoom to the head of the class or line or wherever the front is..
Says it all, summer of 2009. At least you have a nice place to stay.
I wrote a piece on "moochcations" a while back for Huffpo, taking it a step backwards, even.
Such is life in these parts.
Ah, I hope things turn around for you soon, brother. Meantime, thanks so very much for delivering some marvelous, much-needed smiles here.
I share tthese thoughts and smile today, which is a change for me.
Smiles are hard for me today.
I thank you Bob for the giggle.
This is depressingly hilarious. Or hilariously depressing? One of those where you laugh and then groan because - oh god.
"Well I'm gonna raise a fuss and I'm gonna raise a holler
'Bout working all summer just to try to make a dollar..." Summertime Blues Eddie Cochran and Jerry Capehart

No easier in 2009 than it was in 1958, when this song was written.
great~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God I have a friend who lent me her beach condo or i would not have gone anywhere:)
First, your book arrived last week...however in Vegas it was a tad too warm to take a Snowman, so....

Love this cartoon, it's so right on the money...if I had any left!

Thanks everyone for stopping by and cheering me up. As Michael Palin said in Meaning of Life, "Okay, chaps. Chins up."
Hoo-hah. So true.
Very "in the moment".
Well, if it generates 'toons like this...
how blue can you get?

have you considered sketching tourists near the Met?
Great cartoon. What Gary Justis said. You have talent.
Well, you are part of the in-crowd because "Staycations" are the hip dippity do do do...now! Ha!

In fact, several cities are having contests where their citizens are coming up with "staycation" activities and packages around their areas...and I think it is a grand idea!

You could capitalize on this and cartoon a "Staycation" book for your local area! I would like a percentage of the royalties please!
I received my darling Snowman books and will be taking them with me on my actual "Vacation"...I am getting ready to take after my diligent summer session...and I am happy to say...I made a "B" in my mathematics class...I might even have some time to blog.

Stay Brave!
:) Lolly
I think you and Graham should put your clever minds together and come up with some "Staycation" books...for cities nationwide. It could be fun and it might be lucrative. Give him a ring!
Here's hopes for better times. I want a staycation, but I think that I'm already on one. These newfangled terms...
This too shall pass for you, for others of us, I think it may be a permanent condition. In the immortal words of Eddie Cochran:

Sometime I wonder what I'm a gonna do
But there ain't no cure for the unemployment blues
Looks like our house!;-). Rated!
You are not an "Ex-". I know it is trite, but think positively! Change that bio.
I love this, Bob. =o)

The sheer awkwardness forced upon us all by money shortages in a nutshell.

Hooray for Michael Palin!
HAAHAHAHAAHAHA....you got me man!
Wonderful, especially in concert with those ads over on the right. The quality of your work elevates all of us here.
You guys are all very sweet and your encouragement valued.
Bob, google "The Bindle" and see
my new reading device called, yes, The Bindle. You might even want to
do a cartoon on this and i hereby give you permission to borrow the word BINDLE or even steal, i purposely did not copyright it so anyone can use it and credit not needed. Here is photo of the
new "reading" device:
