NEW YORK – “It’s over,” stated a brief two-word statement released over the weekend finally pulling the plug on what has been a promising, yet ultimately, mediocre freelancing career. The immediate cause of death is undetermined but, according to expert

If a joke falls flat does anyone hear it? The following cartoons didn't sell anywhere but are personal all-time favorites of mine. By all-time favorites, I mean they were the clinkers from my usual batch of cartoons this week.

It’s simple. I need to get funny and get funny fast. Loved ones around me are depending on it. Tension is high around the dinner table ("Show me the funny!"). A timetable has been placed on my quest (next Thursday).

I have begun to… Read full post »

No, nothing to do with Open Salon but if it wasn’t
Verizon’s catch-phrase it could be a perfect slogan for
OS, don’t you think?
I did this cartoon for a client of mine, The Automobile Association
of America’s Home & Away magazine on the safety
(of SUVs and cell… Read full post »

It’s almost Valentine’s Day and I was lucky enough to chat with one half of what has to be one the coolest couples there ever was right behind Bradgelina and Sting & Trudie. Michael Maslin and Liza Donnelly both have their beloved cartoons grace the coolest magazine there is and live… Read full post »

The following is an excerpt of my commencement speech made last Friday night at The Hamlin Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Vocational Institute. Although I am NOT terminally ill, in all honesty, I have not been feeling all that great since I would say around the holidays;

Comment I left on Kerry's blog;
I love football and haven't missed a Giant game
since '32 but I haven't seen a Super Bowl in years (except those
with the NY Giants).
Every year I leave a Super Bowl party early and drive through… Read full post »

Sorry if I'm not doing cartwheels over Dan Brown's big day. I simply never bought into his stories which just seem, for me, not convincing and sensationalizing my religion. I'm also bias because of inane conservations I'm suffered through at snotty… Read full post »

In light of my ill-timed cartoon yesterday on writers shooting themselves and some of the mud-slingin, name-calling posts (crap headlines like; "Why Do ---holes Join OS?" Gee, why don't you tell us, buddy? If I hear another dirtbag making fun of another OS writer I swear I'm… Read full post »

I have a real problem with their new TV commercial that has been flooding our airwaves. (If you have an irrelevance filter now would be the time to turn it off.) It’s the one where a man switches lamps and makes the smart-ass remark, “The ‘70s called, they want… Read full post »
