Bio
born in Illinois. 5 year Navy veteran. Married for 25 years (not counting the first five when we just cohabited. 4 kids, 6 grandkids, 3 brothers 2 living, 2 sisters 1 living, a mother living, a father not living. 1 dog a labradoodle, and a current cat population of 9 (I'm working on that number) I've done a lot of jobs in my life, from shill at a carnival burlesque show to making medium caliber ammunition. I built inkjet printers, embedded computer boards, restored and repaired both cars, motorcycles and electronics. I read, write, and do arithmetic (albeit poorly) My wife claims that I have more useless knowledge than anyone on earth and resultingly no one will play trivial pursuit with me anymore. I do play pinohcle but due to my inability to cheat I don't win very often. Recently disabled I turned to Open Salon to re-engage my writing bug. Update, cat population now at 3. homes found for kittens. Update two add one cocker spaniel to the list and maybe just shoot me.

Have I Worn Out My Welcome?

Rate: 16 Flag

I think I have worn out my welcome

fewer take the time each day

have all of my stories faded

back from the light of day

I may have worn out my welcome

by repeating my personal thoughts

or maybe I'm just to damn boring

for others to give me a thought

I try and come on here even if I do not blog.
It's hard but no excuse and you have NOT worn out your welcome..
HUGGGGGGGGGGG
"or maybe I'm just to damn boring"

Absolutely NOT! Don't you dare to leave. Follow your heart, take your time, know what you say is too precious not to share.
And I do care!

Nope, you have not worn out your welcome. Not to me! You keep writing and I'll keep reading. I have been around here less than I once was, so I'm sure I have missed some. But you must keep on writing, Bob -- for yourself.

I love the strokes but I'm sorry, this is just a poem and was not a flounce. I needed to write something and realized that I can only think about my stupid body for some reason and who wants to read another missive about that? Hell, I don't even want to.
Not true! I'm here as are many others, reading your blog.
We all seem to go thru these cycles, Bob. I think I'm keeping up and then find I've missed some posts. Partly I think it's because stuff slides thru the feeds so fast they get lost without anyone knowing they were there. Plus there are a lot of new posters popping up. I try to stick with the ones I know. Figure if the new ones stick with it long enuf they'll catch hold. If they get discouraged and give up, then I've not wasted my investment in time reading their debut posts. It helps me when people I try to keep up with send PMs announcing new posts. I know some people resent this, but I don't. So far as I'm concerned, I'd miss you if you weren't here.
This means I owe you an apology from not commenting as often as I read. Please keep it up.
Bob, I go through those times too here. I guess it's a personal decision because the masses will be fickle, we know that. Sometimes it's a hit and sometimes it just lays there, and I don't see the difference in either piece or poem. Take care, post only for yourself.
Hmmmmm......... Let me think now.

Nope!
.
Reading all the people I want to seems like chasing rain drops. I can't do it all, nor to I feel compelled to do so. Write for your own self and people will read if they stumble upon it, or feel compelled to do so by title, style, etc. Stay connected to yourself. We are the passing parade.
You're not boring! And your ads are awesome!!!

:D KEEP GOING ON WRITING!!!!!!
This may just be a poem but as people think you're flouncing they should know y'all part of the back bone of OS so they'd hunt you down and drag you back.
They're would be NO ESCAPE....
Heck, no! Remember Winston Churchill: "Never, never, never give up!"
Bob, I think you are the only blog I always keep up with. Does that sound boring?
Bob, you'll always be relevant here, my man!
I understand, but we all do the best we can with the time available...sorry I missed this, but alas I made it!
