end - or is it? JD's open call

Rate: 9 Flag

                          Armageddon

 I knew the ending

I had skipped to the back one day

lost

in detail; in want of comfort

it was supposed to be a certain way....

the kings led by spirit hands

together in one forenamed place

a name that rock bands used without shame

a Hebrew whisper

the seventh angel

pouring his bowl

into the air

And then a voice

Too loud to hear

Said  "It is done!"

flashes of lightning,

 rumblings and peals of thunder,

 a terrible earthquake.

never before seen since the creation of human beings;

it rocked the world

city once king

now  split into three parts,

countries destroyed in an instant

Babylon drinking the wine from his cup

the wine of furious anger.

the islands disappeared,

all the mountains vanished.

Huge hailstones,

fell from the sky on people,

cursing God

“what have we done?”

I sat on my suitcase

playing Vivaldi

on my ipod

today

must not be the day

after all

yeah well empires turn into dust every day.
but..all remains the same.

i hope these evil empires fall into sand, too.

listen to dylan. mr tamborine man.

"evening's empire has turned into sand
left me blindly here to stand
but still not sleeping
my weariness amazes me..................."
Zanelle~ You hot mama!! I just read your post!

James~ You know it... not all my words (such a cheater)! Good to see you here...
I like this, Brazen. Very hopeful. The ending is perfect.
Your work made me ask myself the question "what would be the last thing I would like to do on the last day of the world" and my answer is sky diving!! Liked your thinking and what an ending "I sat on my suitcase playing Vivaldi.." Rated!!
Just when I was getting a little depressed.....nicely done.
I really enjoyed the sound of this poem. And I like how it makes a doomsday prepper's outlook seem so darn poetic!
I think it will come like the plague. No thunder or hail. Just something that man created and man was unable to control. The Almighty, he or she, will just watch and wonder "what fools these mortals be."
I am glad you survived.
Good contrast of projection into when and then now! Per James, John of Patmos one person show pretty intense.
Stunningly beautiful. Wonderful.
