I have resolved not too do resolutions, so don't. Howver, one of my 10 Things I Have learned in My Year on OS, posted a couple of days ago, was :
"I should write what I want, when I want"
And I just decided I want to write about 2010. No loftly goals I'll never reach, just 10 things I appreciate right now:
- This great cup of coffee. Made it myself. Didn't grow the beans, nor roast them, but i did grind them & brew it. Not Starbucks or Timmies.
- Sitting here in warm flannel jammies, cozy and secure.
- Speaking of secure, since there is NOT Peace on earth, I'm grateful for my little corner of it being safe. I often think of the folks in Afghanistan, or Somalia, or some other hellhole. I hope you do to.
- Success in my career, and relative financial security. Heck, I even bought furniture yesterday. I'll never be rich, but appreciate that others are worse off, and think about them for balance.
- Looking forward to watching the sun come up. Sure, in January in God's Country, that means cold - see above re cozy & warm. still love dawn breaking over the Lake. That's why I keep buying houses with an east exposure.
- While looking forward to things, that long hot shower I get to enjoy, since I don't need to save hot water for lil B. Maybe in 2010 I should get an inline water heater, but then I'd just lose time in the mornings.
- The love and respect of my sons. Musta done something right. God knows what. Not that either believes in God. Didn't get that right.
- One thing I did get right - raised them to be independent thinking individuals, not just part of a herd. They'll do it their way.
- High speed Internet. It's hard to remember dial up. and what did we do before Al Gore invented the World Wide Web?
- Friends. Old ones. New ones. Thin ones. Fat ones. OS ones right now.
So, thanks for being friends and readers, see you around the rest of the year?
That's what I want to write right now.

May the new year dawn bright and bring some good things.
The past decade was not good. Not good for so many of up out in the world.
I just wish for some peace out there. Too much pain for some folks.
AhP: I like all of them, but yes, 7 &8 are special...

It upsets me that two of my older four kids stopped going to church completely and may not even believe in God. The other two are still practicing their religion, but sporadically. My youngest two aren't old enough to make those kind of decisions yet, but they hate going to church. I can't help but wonder what I did wrong. I wasn't the pushy kind....maybe I should have been.
Thank you for your friendship!
Love your list, and I too think about those less fortunate when blessed with such a great vacation!
buffy: high speed at sea...wow! what a world.
Leondre: You back from Florida yet?
Stay warm.
Robin - thank you
skel- glad you liked that one.
