Are you a Turtle?

Does anyone else remember this club (The Ancient Order of Turtles)?    I learned it from a friends stepfather when I was 11 years old.  I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

In my lifetime, I'm sure I've only had that query asked of me maybe two or three times total, but when its asked, it is SO much fun to know the proper response.

Does anyone out there know it?

PS. No googling!

You bet your sweet ass I am.
Judie, Yay! You're the winner. I'm delighted to know you!

To those of you who know nothing of what we speak, the following is a link that explains...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Order_of_Turtles - 41k
No idea...I was raised by a pack of wolves.
However, I simply MUST know the answers (had to Google, couldn't stop myself)...
This is a better link;

that little face is so cute!
It looks a lot like my Grandmother. Are you sure it doesn't smell like lavender like my Grandmother wore. Just kidding. I have never heard of The Ancient Order of the Turtles. But, I will google it.
You bet your sweet ass I am...

1. What on a man is so hard you can hang your hat on it?

2. What is long and black and full of seamen?

3. What does a woman do sitting down, that a man does standing up, and a dog does on three legs?
Judie @ Mr. E knew the password, "You bet your sweet as I am." Nice job. Technically, I was never an official member, but its fun to know the proper reply if someone should ask.

Mr. E, I never knew about the qualifying questions until just recently when I researched the club. Its kind of neat that it originated during WW II as a drinking game. Who new?

Thanks for commenting.
Of course, I meant "Sweet ASS".
My uncle used to regale me with "Turtle Tales" when I was a kid-- kept me in stitches. Probably also worked well for him-- he rose to high rank in the military. Lotsa stars.
I'm glad my post brought back some happy memories for you.
Alas, I am too dirty minded to be a turtle. Nevertheless I admire turtles the same way I admire dog owners - not for me, but glad they exist.

The answer to the man, woman, dog question is clearly: shake hands.
Shake hands indeed! :)
I'll have to google this -- Never heard of it! (I have a taxidermy-ed turtle in my office. My brother-in-law gave him to me, he looks kind of like the turtle in the photo!)
Sweet, innocent and lacking vulgarity. We need more turtles.
Slowly Rated.
