It seems that President Obama is scrapping his plans for universal healthcare. He buckled under the pressure of the conservatives and they are now looking into an alternative plan. The reason was too much competition amongst the insurance companies. It seems both political parties are trying to find some kind of alternative and concessions to take care of uninsured Americans. There needs to be some kind of viable alternative to the original plan to overhaul this country's mess of a health care system.
Perhaps going the way of state-run healthcare such as Medicaid, HMO'S like Health Plus, Child Health Plus, Fidelis Care and Health First to name some. These are no to low-cost insurance programs in New York State, so surely they have similar programs to these in other states.
The biggest concerns from both political parties is the cost to run a government-sponsored insurance program. There was so much talk of raising taxes to fund this universal healthcare plan.
