The American newspaper is going the way of the dodo bird. They are losing readership to the internet. A recent casualty is Rocky Mountain News and smaller newspapers are slowly going to the wayside and becoming extinct. The internet and cyberspace are both a blessing and a curse. I'm not ready to say damn technology either, it's a beautiful thing. People now longer write letters and send them via U.S. Mail (snail mail) but keep in touch through e-mails, text messaging and social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc. I heard recently that the U.S. Postal Service wants to start charging people for sending e-mails. I wonder how they are going to manage to pull this one off unless they charge you via your ISP and/or who you get your internet connection through. This can be any of a number of cable/telecommunication companies such as Time Warner, Verizon, Cablevision, Optimum-to name some of the more well-known ones.
In the meantime, sit tight and wait this one out. It may never happen, especially if they keep raising postage the way they do.
