Rate: 36 Flag

Sunday I went to the Farmer's Market.   I did this little drawing commemorating it.  I wanted to share it with you on this Foody Tuesday.

Something light into the feed!
You know, Sheila, the nostrils are starting to look like eyes, which makes the rest of your face look like Caspar the Friendly Ghost. Did you do that on purpose for Halloween?
What? No wine or cheese? What kind of Farmer's Market did you go to?
I love farmers' markets.

Rated for exquisite artwork. And for going to the farmer's market.
You are going to hurt your neck if you keep tilting your head back like that.

Squint John...sheesh!
O'Really, those were long gone by the time I drew it!
Harvey, me too, obviously. Thank you.
Aging hippy chick, aw-w thanks, made me feel good!
littlewillie, I like looking up...I find inspiration!
I like this. I like farmer's markets. But this time of year I just buy a hundred squashes and then watch them get all soft and foldy. I should really just stall shop;)
The farmer's market truly does inspire. ~R~ xox
okay, now I'm hungry
MMmmmmm... rated for exuberance!
This makes me smile, the thought of farmers markets, and the glee in the picture.
Thank you! Love your drawings.
I love these drawings of yours, Buffy! Book in the works? xox
everything you do is exquisite. I think it's just your presence that makes it so. Of course I am under the influence right now so maybe I just like extremes. I think it's time for bob to go back to bed. Either that or strip naked and go outside to run around in the rain.
Picasso, eat your heart out!!
Love it! Especially all the bright colors. :-)
oh the delight! There's something quite wonderful about buying stuff at the Farmer's Market, and you've captured it beautifully.

mmmmmm......piiiiiiiieeee
Makes me hungry. I miss the bread in France.
This made me smile big ,thanks!!!!!!
From what I've been able to ascertain, you are definitely shortchanging yourself on boobage. Please add a little there and subtract from the nostrils.

Otherwise, a brilliant piece.

Nice tongue.
I love Farmer's Markets!!! And today is Tuesday!!! Samba, Baby!! We want pics bright and early! Or even late tonight!
Mmmm, farmer's markets.
I like artwork, I like farmers' markets.

Farmer's market--every Saturday! That's why I always smile, though not as beautifully as you, Buffy!

Shiela,

I just love your cartoons. If it's the Fairfax one in LA, you sure make it look a lot sunnier.

Rated.
Looks like fun, but is that a rising or setting sun? It look suspiciously like a rising sun, as in getting up at the crack of dawn to get to the farmer's market. I've known people throughout the years who do this, and I regard them as an interesting species.
Will someone feed the cat--I usually do too, but I didn’t want to draw them :)
Chuck A. Stetson--It was a good day, thank you!
Nikki--All I have left is some blueberry/apple pie.
mypsyche--Thank you!
Owl_Says_Who--I’m glad you smiled, I did while drawing it.
Deborah Young--You are welcome. I am working on it :)
bobbot--I’m glad you think so, and if I get a vote...go out and run in the rain!
Scanner--Yeah...thanks.
Gwendolyn Glover--That makes me happy!
Unbreakable--Thanks, I’m having fun using them.
Karin Rego--Thanks, I agree...and the pie is delicious!
GJIPenguin--I miss it too, never tastes nearly as good as in France.
Lunchlady 2--I’m so glad!
Duane--Oh...your imagination is working overtime--I’m breathing in all the wonderful smell of LIFE...it makes nostrils bigger. Thank you~
MAWB__--It’s Tango...I already took Samba lessons...I should share that adventure with ya’ll. Thanks for the encouragement!
AshKW--I should go more often!
Boanerges1--And I like you! Thank you.
AtHome Pilgim--Aww, I just “paint it on”, but shhh. Thank you.
Thoth--Nope, it was the one in Ojai...and this is the view from my kitchen! Thanks.
Sirenita Lake--Hmmm, that is too deep for me to consider, I just draw what I like...in actuallity it was late afternoon, but sunny in my mind!
Ah yes, the Farmer's Market. Of course the pic would have been perfect had you drawn a cell-phone on the table next to da bread! You know, I hadn't really thought about it, but I think John is onto something there...Casper? The guy cracks me up!

Very Cute drawing. Going to the farmers market can be a wonderful time.
Cute. But why do you always draw yourself with that big, round schnozz sticking straight up in the air?
I recognise that view...and that table...and those nostrils. Loved your market too...sigh.

Keep cartooning through the days and your progress. Love you.
Sheila, I hope many more will publish their sketches on OS. It's an area that we have only seen a small number of people create posts around and I think it adds another great dimension of fun and humor.
So great to see her looking happy.
My daughter, grandson and I went to two farmer's markets on Saturday, both of them in the rain. We went to our local market to show our support of our farmer friends, and to buy their beautiful vegetables and meats. Then we drove a half hour to the fabulous market over the border in Vermont to buy lunch at the Indian stall. I bought a new coffee mug from a potter, and we bought more veggies, all the while holding our umbrellas. It's getting cooler here, and several of the stalls had little fires burning in cans. I have a tradition of stopping at the chai wallah first, then selecting my food from the thai, indian, vietnamese, or malian booth. After all our shopping is done I always buy two russian tea cakes from one of the bakers and get powdered sugar on my clothes on the ride home. A perfect Saturday excursion, even in the rain. Thanks for for your sharing your happy farmer's market post with us.
Hello, again, Sheila! Your drawings always make me smile.

There's something about a farmer's market that tells me that many of us really care for one another, we've got things to share, and that there is always community available for even the loneliest person.

Where else can one find happy people, genuinely communicating with one another, and sharing good things? Flowers, plants, homemade goodies, crafts and interesting people frequent the farmer's market in my little town. It's a pleasure to go there, and I always look forward to it.
Love the farmer's market and fresh everything—baked goods, produce, bouquets...and air.

Happy looks great on you!
oh my god, girl!!! i just LOVE your drawings. i'm not sure if you've caught my Early Kindergarten Decor posts at all, but this is right up my ally. no, not that one. btw, your gal has my old nostrils, back before the nose job. love love lvoe and gratitude
Your cartooning is improving!
I used to love the Farmer's Market. Then I found out about the farmer's daughter, and I loved her even more ... and often. Then the farmer found out about me. Now I strictly go to the grocery store. But nice pic, kid! But I hear John B. It is kinda like looking up your nostrils ... not that that's bad, mind you. Just say'n.
I miss farmer's markets. We saw a quaint one in France, but not quite as good as the one at home. Great pic.
Just wanted to make sure you knew I was kidding about your drawing. I love it and I would NEVER change one thing about it because it came form you, dear woman.

I am sorry if you took it any other way.
