I am from Sunlight

Rate: 5 Flag

I am from sunlight and small grass shadows.

I am from the barn tucked under the lip of the hill, waiting for someone to bring another creature.

I am from green leaves and people who do things for others.

I am from loving and respecting animals, creatures of the world.

I am from kindness and love, from depression and shadows, from mothers and fathers and children and pets.

I am from Iowa and Kansas and an Ashram in Colorado.

I am from divinity.

That was a very grounded statement of your origins. Well done and to the point. Importance.
you are all that, and more.

blessings upon you
Love this.. and your view on our many wonderful creatures! Great peak into the unique you!
Very interesting that you begin each line with I AM-- in a sense also an indicator of timeless divinity. Now I am wondering-- do you consider yourself personally divine (in the Emersonian- or Whitman- sense) or are you taking a more traditional western-- or eastern-- stance? Very interesting.
There was an open call a few weeks ago that was something to the effect of completing the statement, "I am from..." I started this poem then, and finished it today, if anything is ever finished while it is still living.
Cathy, Words ground me. I appreciate you very much, and think of your laugh when I think of Colorado or California.
Brian, Thank you. You are steady and I love to see you here.
Cindy, Thanks! What a nice comment.
Jeffrey, I speak of the timeless divinity that is within all of us. It is what unites us, and leads us with love. I think it is in the eastern/western sense. Thank you for stopping.
This is a veritable manifesto.
