Moments to Remember

Rate: 5 Flag
The stream of posts in recent days about many(most) contributors leaving the clunky old OS reminds of the last days of high school: let's keep in touch, sign my yearbook, I know you will be a great success in your endeavors.
Through the empty halls the only sound is the clicking of my heels on the tile floor.

I have cleaned out my locker and my desk. In reviewing my work here most of it does not seem as good to me now as it did at the time. Still, it was fun: I learned a lot and made a lot of friends.

I hope somehow OS pulls through, but if not we have many moments to remember. Sign my yearbook, please.

To one of the funniest boys in the class. I'll always remember prom night.
All you need is a cat!
Everything looks better when you have a cat!
Cats are fun!
Look how good OS works when Tink is around!
Cats are great - even after the mice have all run away!

Purrrrrrrrrrrr......!
Monday, November 19th... Thirty days with no activity on Open Salon. No posts, no comments, no ratings, no sign-in, nothing, nada, zip, zero... maybe Jacob and his folks will get the message. Please feel free to copy and crosspost, read and rate all posts linked to or bearing this related Headline: Keep the Community, Ditch the Site. Maybe if this is all Jacob can see in the activity feed, he'll get something done over the next month.

See you all over at Our Salon.
jmac,

I, for one, will still be here. and id the PMs I'm getting are any indication, so will a good number of other folks.

But just to show you I'm a good sport, I'll send cheese over to you wonderful folks......... lots and lots of cheese!
;-)

Well, this lower classman will miss you at Glee Club practice for sure. I'm not going anywhere.

I like OS but as the politics got more viturberant and angry, there has been a turn-off factor. I hope my posts are read and helpful. I know some people google me and see them apart from OS, too.
And you Dip too! What a guy! Great Music, great Memories - great Cummerbund! See you at the 50th Reunion!
I am in a paroxysm of indecision over this.
Not an unfamiliar place for me, when it comes to life decisions.
I would prefer that everyone loves me, but I suppose
I should stand on principle.
I wish i had one that didn't shift like sand beneath my feet.
As for you, Gerald, it's been my great honor to follow your work
with appreciation and always an
eye out to steal a great line,
of which you have provided many.
Hello anyway! (By the way, Graduation Day by the Four Freshman is even more poignant).
I will gladly sign, but I echo Tink's sentiment. I think OS still has a lot of benefits, not only the community, but also a chance to get a lot of new readers, due to its connection with Salon.com. I love your writing (I understand your not loving what you've written, yourself - such is the lot of an author, of course) and I think that exposing it to as wide an audience as possible would be a great favor to humanity! Nothing less.
