Bio
Raised in a traffic-light strip-mall ridden midwestern suburb a thirty something struggles to create. I think the world's problems are matters of imposed scarcity and misleading advertisements. I write all kinds of things(stories, screenplays, plays, poems, songs, www.theabstractexponent.com) but this is my political blog. My real name starts with J and has too many syllables. INFJ. I want a spaceship.

Republicans Pretend they are still Credible about Money

Rate: 1 Flag

Where were they in August when 700 billion dollars were being given away without any record even being kept of who was given money?

Where were they when 20(+) billion went missing in Iraq?

Now they are concerned about pork barrel projects and Taminy hall politics?  (Well they have to say something, they can't just say 'we had near complete control for 8 years and now everything is broken so keep doing what we say even though we lost the election' can they?)

I think they mean they just don't want to spend money on building things in America, they just want to spend money blowing them up in other countries and let everything else rot.

If there is any sort of Taminy hall politics they are concerned about, they should clean their own doorsteps first and then recognize that we've legalized Taminy hall anyway.

Taminy Hall is just what K street was called before we had 'Lobbyists.'   and maybe if we're going to have legal bribery then it's better they wear suits and write checks than get into Robber Baron style street wars.

The Free Market Experiment is Over, now it's time for Keynsianism or however that is spelled.   All these people saying the New Deal was a bad idea have never had grandparents who grew up in Oklahoma in the 1930's and lived on social security until they died.  If someone said that about the New Deal to my face I'd head butt them in the nose.

It's time to throw the word socialism out too because it's gotten so twisted up that it can't mean the same thing to everyone anymore.

There is a Government and There is a Market now let's just take it on a case by case basis.

I don't think Microsoft could make a better interstate and I don't think the government could make a better Xbox, so there we are.  It is just that simple, we have to argue about it and decide. Anybody who doesn't like it is welcome to save up for a container ship and build a freestate out in the ocean.  (or a spaceship, like I'm doing)

So let's spend a bunch of money in our borders.  Then all those construction workers and good ole' bribed government officials can buy lunch at Denny's and tip well and then maybe we'll have things rolling alright again (if a psychopath doesn't set off a bomb or shoot someone.)

The Republican concerns about spending and the federal debt reeks of hypocrisy. They made ear marks and budget busting spending a competitive sport when they were in control of Congress.
